+1 on this. The voyager figure, while a little thin in the thighs, is much more movie accurate and less kibbly overall than the leader mold. A lot of fans have complained about his small size, and though he is not as bulky as he should be, fits in better with leader Prime. After rewatching both Bay movies this week, Ironhide appears to be just a little taller than Prime's hips in most shots. While leader Ironhide's weapons features are really cool, they're about the only things the figure has going for it (and they're not even accurate at that).

I think I will be picking up a Voyager as well, the Leader Class is an absolute positive addition to my movie collection. I wonder if the Voyager's gun fits into the Leader's hand...

It will. From what I've seen, all the figures can hold the individual guns from each figure.

It will fit in the leader's hand. I actually snagged up a Voyager the other day, and I like it. I don't think it is better that the previous Voyager mold though. I'm still a big fan of the original.

I've been fiddling with my Ironhide I picked up and Costo and he is by far the best figure of the line.

He has not only 1, but 3 mechtech weapons and the big plus being that the mechtech is built onto the figure itself. One mechtech for each arm and the chest. He also has a cannon and bowie knife stored in each side of his legs.

To me, this toy is proof that mechtech could have been so much more.

instead of creating another DOTM Ironhide leader thread. I did a search & found a few. this was my favorite thread of the bunch.

Anyways here's a few DOTM Leader sized tid bits I feel like discussing.

I bought a second dotm leader sized ironhide toy for a relative. upon opening the box,I NOTICED the instruction booklet was different than the instruction booklet than the dotm leader ironhide toy with the instruction booklet I bought a month+ago.

one dotm leader ironhide instruction booklet is larger & folded into a different shape. the other dotm leader ironhide instruction booklet is smaller & folded into a different shape. I HAVE NO CLUE WHY THEY DID THIS,MAYBE TO SAVE MONEY ON PAPER.

OTHER Dotm leader ironhide comments: I don't mind the battle mask on the head like other TF internet fans seem to hate. I like the battle head mask it sort of looks like & resembles a BULLS mouth/nose. I also like the inner non-mask face it looks like a wild cats/lion nose+mouth

I don't mind the metalic blue legs/pants on DOTM Leader sized ironhide like others seem to dislike. sure I would have preferred all black legs/pants but the metalic light blue current legs aren't horrible, they still look decent.

I think the 2 forearm weapons on the dotm leader ironhide are kinda lame, shaped weird & tiny. I like the 2007 voyager ironhide weapons better.

I do like the pocket knife dotm leader ironhide has. I kinda wish it would have been double the size. I don't like the flip out missle launcher in the lower leg.

The robot head as most know is glued & can't move. as most know this is a simple fix. all you've gotta do is turn the head around really hard till you hear a snap/break & it rotates all around 360 degrees.

I agree with Robofreak, this dotm leader ironhide is the best of the 3 dotm leader sized toys released thus far.

FWIW,Kmart stores in america got a huge shipments of Later waves DOTM toys like leader sized ironhide, voyager sized sentinel prime. the fire burst voyager sized optimus prime repaint with the new mech tech energon ax/gun weapon. some got in $29.99 HA roadbuster though I didn't seen any roadbusters at my 4 local kmart stores.

I saw about 2 dozen DOTM Leader ironhide's at my 4 local kmarts weeks ago.

a few days ago I spotted 2 DOTM Leader sized ironhides at on of my local kmarts on the top top shelf.

the major key with kmart & their TF section you have to look on the top shelf item for the bigger boxed items & even did thru other bigger sized TF boxes on the top shelf. as more than often the desired item is behind another un-desired item on the top top shelf at kmart stores. I found 2 dotm leader sized ironhides on the top top shelf 3 deep behind other un-desired TF bigger boxed toys about 4 days ago. I didn't buy them because I already bought what I needed weeks ago from kmart.

Leader Ironhide is not that great if you ask me. Someone bought me one and its arm panels kept opening- very loose. Don't know why they couldn't add an extra tab or something. Plus the head doesn't move which I know is small but frustrated me because I felt like I couldn't pose him all that well. He's decent but I don't think he's the best toy in the DOTM line. Not sure what is really. To be honest I like the Voyager Ironhide better.

Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the size scale of the DOTM Leader sized ironhide toy. does everyone think it's too oversized compared to the way the character was shown in scale next to other characters in the movies.

Personally I feel dotm leader bumblebee is extremly over sized & should be a deluxe toy. DOTM Leader size sentinel prime is the exact proper toy size. Dotm leader ironhide is a mixed 50/50 bag. the ironhide character was a big brute body guard in the movies but he wasn't show optimus size in the movies.

I guess if the DOTM toy line had a $27 USA Ultra size toy scale. then this would be a decent size for movie verse ironhide. leader sized is the next size up. so it's not like he's going from deluxe to leader size like bumblebee.

As far as alt mode goes. those pick up truck can get pretty big. so a pick up truck would be way bigger than a sports car.
