Owning the "clash" Sideswipe, I say he is better than the retail release. I love the paint job and it just works so well for him. and he's all molded in the same color plastic and no clear stuff, so the details just pop and mesh so much better

Well, these are the standard releases for tav, right? They didn't release a deluxe o/p, just n/p, right?

He just clicks so well! If it were not for the engineering issues (mainly the chest plate in vehicle mode) I would claim this as one of my top 5 favorite transformers I own. Drift is high up there too

Optimus' Powered up colour scheme reminds me of a few previous Optimus Primes.

Supercon/Deluxe and Leaderclass "Galaxy Force" Optimus Prime from Transformers Cybertron (the ones with black legs).

G2 Laser Optimus Prime. He even looks a little like Movie Sentinel Prime.

I like an Optimus with Black legs.

You mean as in the news post?

These are also the first in hand images of the slew of upcoming TAV releases which we finally saw earlier this week such as TAV Battle Grimlock, Supreme Bumblebee, Black Shadow, and Stepper. What is probably most interesting is that we see a stand in featuring the upcoming VS set featuring "origin" Drift and "Battle" Jazz and it seems this Jazz has a visor, just as the Stepper redeco has.

Has any "Adventures" toy used Metallic Paint at all - it looks like Rumble and Frenzy may for example - but the regular RID-15 derived guys especially ?

Doesn't look like Adventure isn't going to continue the trend started by Animated, United and Generations.

I'm leaning towards "trick of the light." I've got the regular release TAV Jazz and it's got a nice glossy looking sheen to it, making the pain look especially shiny when in well-lit room.

Yeah, I was gonna mention TAV Jazz since he looked super shiney to me. But I guess it is just glossy paint after all.
