But you don't want that to happen. If Light could somehow get hold of the power of immortality he really would become a living demi-god. All he has to do then is write his own name in the book in a way that won't kill an immortal. Then not even Ryuuk could touch him.
Of course he'd then have to learn how to sword fight, and use Connor's knowledge to write down as many immortal's names in the book as he can.

These so-called immortals are clearly mortal. That's shown in the movies. Someone should sue. They could ask the lawyer Lionel Hutz (Simpsons). He already sued the makers of 'The Neverending Story', which ended after about 2 hours!
