Looking For Box Art and Instruction Scans
Looking For Box Art and Instruction Scans
Hey everyone, Ryan needs a little help with a future project that he is starting to put together for Seibertron.com. In a continuing effort to add content that users find interesting Ryan is looking at trying to add box art to the website. However, he needs out help. Here is what he is looking for: just the box artwork of the characters. He would also love to get scans of the instructions from the back of the boxes as well as any non-G1 or G2 tech specs. Here is how you can help:
1.) Scan images of your Transformers boxes
2.) Post them in this thread.
Please do not post images from other sites. It needs to be your original work.
So if you are interested in helping just let us know by posting your scans in this thread.

When you say scans of the boxart... do you want the entire box, or just the artwork inserts ON the boxes, like the stuff I've got saved on my photobucket here?

I'm also wondering: if we have, for example, those trading card/stickers that came with the Armada and Energon figures, would scanning those suffice for boxart? I have a bunch of those laying around that I could easily scan if that's what Ryan needs.
Hell, I even collected those Armada Trading cards for a while, which used the Dreamwave artwork that was on the boxes. Don't have them all, but I could scan those too...
damn I need a life. BADLY. XD

That artwork is what he is looking for as long as you scanned it and did not get it from any other site.

Awesome. I can assure you this is all my personal stash. Seibs is welcome to everything that's on that sub-album, I'll dig through the rest of my paperwork too now and see what else I can scan.
And if he needs the boxart at a higher resolution than this, I can scan it again for him. I scanned a couple more Energon and Cybertron boxart cutouts, plus the card back and art for TM2 Cheetor today.
With that said, that's all I currently have. It's not much, but I hope it helps.

Little known fact for Beast Wars is that they made box art of both their robots and animal modes, but they only used the animal art for the card game. here is a sample. I can do more if you want them. Plus the box art of Optimus and Megatron.

Some more, again, I can spread out the booklets so you can see the whole set of instructions, if you want that.
I'll add some G1 mini-bots instructions tomorrow night.
Let me know about the other instruction booklets, either on this thread or PM me.

Hey shockwaveuk,
Thank you for posting the images that you have. Unfortunately, those images are from BotchTheCrab.com's website so we can't use those. We're looking for original scans that people make from packaging they own. I'm not necessarily looking to recreate the artwork that you can find on BotchTheCrab because what they do is pretty exceptional and far beyond the call of duty in my book. But I would like us to have cropped artwork from the boxes as well as all of the tech specs here on the site.
I have all of the G1 and G2 tech specs from the Hartman's old site that has been out of commission for several years so we will be using those but that's because that website is no longer around.

Ah, scans of the cards ... that's something that I've really been wanting to add to the site. I have most of my cards separated from whatever box they came in so that I can do those scans one day when I get around to it.
I keep wanting to take my catalogs down to Kinko's to see if they have a scanner larger enough. My scanner at home is just your standard sized scanner. It's not big enough to do the long catalogs.
