What's the official storage for Bulldozer and Excavators' weapons in vehicle mode? I currently have them pegged onto their sides, but it doesn't seem quite right. I figured out every one else's (Dump Truck's is AWESOME), but the instruction book doesn't really go though weapon storage and I had to guess from pictures.
Pegged onto the sides is the official method. What you see is what you get. Does it in the yellow set, as well.
kirbenvost wrote:Also, what's with the rectangular pegs on the sides of the arms/generators? I'm guessing a couple of the weapons will peg there, but I'm not sure why. It would be super awesome if the weapons could form fuel tanks for the generators or something, but I doubt that's the case.
I'm assuming you're talking about the thin tabs on the sides. Those tabs fit into the thin slots on the sides of Mixmaster's drum. They form rocket packs for him. Also, there's a flip down visor on Mixmaster, it reveals rockets like the G1 toy.
The square pegs on the back of the generators (where Devastator's hands flip out), can take those pistons from Long Haul and become jackhammers. The gray handles swing out for the figures to use them as jackhammers. In Devastator mode, the hands can flip in and you can attach the pistons to his forearms, but turn the silver pieces around, one's a Philip's head screwdriver, the other's a flat head. He can use them as weapons.

No prob. I can't remember if that tidbit was in the instructions (yellow's the prototype) or on a photo blog...
Also, Devastator's chest shield/Long Haul's exhaust pipes, also doubles as a handheld shield. Long Laul can't hold it, unfortunately. Mixmaster and the others can.
His rifle, the shield, the rocket packs and his visor? AWESOME looking robot of death.
Also, on Scrapper and Mixmaster, there's buttons. Those will extend their vehicle modes for Devastator. Gives the ankles a bit more range. (Makes him taller, too, of course.)
Mixmaster's are on the sides near the front of his drum. Scrapper's is singular and it's just below the silver piston. (Look closely, can't miss it.)

Nice, I should try that with Mixmaster.

I'm guessing Kapow just might have to deal with long customs delays, as TFsource had a 10
Day hold in their shipment.
Next batch isn't due until late Dec.

'Tis a bummer if I'll have to wait longer. (I preordered it a bit on the later side, so if TFSource only got in a small shipment recently, I'd not be surprised if I have to wait until their next shipment.) But on the plus side, since I had a few other big purchases recently, it will be more time to recover. Must keep that glass half full!

LOL. BTW was going to ask you, no reviews in September. WTF man? Have you run out of stuff to review or is that thing called 'real life' getting in the way
Personally, I'm really itching to review Giant, but will try to stay patient

Nice to know I was missed! Yeah, I feel bad about that. 'Twas a real life getting in the way thing. I was hoping to get a review up last weekend so that I could at least get one in September, but didn't quite get it finished. I at least took all of the photos I need for it, so hopefully I'll have it written sometime this week. To wet your appitite, I'm going G1 Prime! That will be followed (in no particular order) by Smallest Transforming Prime, Hybrid Series G1 Prime, and MP-04, then hopefully by the time I'm through all of those I'll have gotten my TRU MP-10.
Of course... When I checked my e-mail just now, I had one informing me that something had shipped... So, so much for recovery... but I suppose that is something else I've got to look forward to reviewing.
So... Alas, disapeared for a bit. But hopefully I'll be able to get things back on track, 'cause I certainly have a bunch of things (with a nice mix of oldies but goodies and exciting new stuff) to talk about!
And I shall also look forward to your thoughts on the big green guy, as well.

Agreed about the tightness... have to use so much pressure on some of these joints it feels like they're about to snap... and THEN you have to use even more before they move (Crane's elbows were the toughest). The waist-extension on the mixer is a pain too... that little button is NOT very accessible.
Just got them all into their bot modes... tons of fun, though time consuming.
Kinda feels like Christmas 20 years ago...

It is a time-consuming and scary process transforming them for the first time, but it realy is fun and rewarding. Best 2 hours I've had recently!

It's sort of a shame this will forever be compared with Hercules. I don't have Herc, so I can't compare the two. But I think that in an alternate reality in which Hercules had never come out, fandom would have collectively fallen over itself to heap praise on MakeToys and declare it the new undisputed king of the 3rd party toymakers. I think this really sets a new standard.

I've had Hercules, and it's either you like the "classics" styled Hercules, that matches the more blocky designs of classics, or you like the more detailed "MP" style of Giant.
Other then that, they are two fraktastically amazing creations, the world will forever cave under their feet...
Until they see Uranus!

In my mind Maketoys is still an offshoot of Fansproject anyway, so they can share the crown.
Oh, to those who may have not read all the way back in the thread, be VERY careful when inserting/removing the screwdriver handles from Long Haul's bucket. It's a really tight fit. I didn't break mine but I stressed one of the handles.

Had to pop mine out from the other side using a dull pencil. Learned my lesson from Thundershred's blades...
