Besides the price tag (and again, Sentinel won out with the $150 shipped from HLJ when it was on clearance), he stylistically crosses over to 'Neo' or maybe even a step beyond that. Maybe it's just Energon Scorponok on steroids, but this just doesn't seem like a Transformer to me.

I don't really expect a TF this size to be very functional honestly. I mean, I absolutely hate touching my SDCC Metroplex once I get him displayed he way I want. I find this figure very imposing. I want him in black & gold.

Good lord this is one hell of a good looking Scorponok. That price tag though.....it's cringe worthy but it also doesn't seem toootally unreasonable considering how sexy this beast is.

Those photographs really amp up the beauty of this bot.

Yeah, those price tags on citybots will always be a kicker, but I think it's cheaper than when Utopia first came out. In fact, I think the predicted price on this beast was supposed to be in the $500 range? I swear I read that somewhere, but I couldn't say exactly where.

That's what I remember too. I sprung for their Utopia Metrotitan repaint because I didn't expect Has/Tak to do one. And I liked the design a lot as well. This one, while I like aspects of it, just doesn't speak to me the same way as Utopia. Plus, Hasbro will likely come out with Scorponok in the next couple of years...

I also recently sold my Sentinel Scorponok (LOLZ!), but keeping Botcon Scorpy. This MT guy really isn't for me. Too stylized.

The way I look at it is that it's larger/bulkier than any of their combiner teams and is about the same price.

I'm waiting for Black Zarak myself. I'd drop money on that in a heartbeat

Their Metroplex/Metrotitan stands about as tall as Hasbro's Devastator. I suspect that this'll be about the same.

Having just emptied my bank account of 350 sterling for this thing, I really wish I wasn't interested in it, especially with the glut of Hot Toys figures due to drop over the next couple of months.

With Utopia either sold out or still full price at my usual online retailers, and Perfect Effect's Deathstalker MIA, I don't want to take the chance of not getting this beast.

I would love to have him! But I'd also like to stay married to my accountant...

(He really looks awesome. I love the base mode the most. The only complain I have had is that I think in bot mode he is a bit too busy looking. But, that could be the justification [Read: self delusion?] of not being able to buy him...)

Thre's little point in saying that we're interested in it at this point. I mean ... it's been years now.

My position hasn't changed.

Black repaint = yes. PE Scorpy = yes (if he ever comes out).
