What, you mean Age of Ultron? Of course it's not the last, Phase 3 is planned out for two Avengers movies, so it's at least going to be a Tetralogy.

Need to reword the post (my bad). Ultron being the second to the last. That's good then.Thanks.

No they don't. They're most likely not mutants as it was just revealed Magneto is NOT the father (take that Maury!)

Given his connection with Inhumans, Quicksilver may be a connecting bridge between Avengers and Inhumans.

Burn. The mythos on the twins are for the MCU right? Just to clarify. If suddenly Pietro and Wanda Maximoff aren't Magnus' children....... :HEADHURTS:

In the comics (in recent months) it was revealed that Magneto is not the father. Q&SW are now trying to find out who and it's lead them back to the High Evolutionary. It'll probably be revealed next month that he created them.

They're trying to line the comics up with the movies so origins and back stories are adjusted as necessary.

Both of the twins are just as closely tied with Avengers as they are with X-Men. That was one of Joss Whedon's explanations for using them, and why they were allowed to use them at all.

Nemesis Maximo wrote:Okay, you know what? After drawibg a blank on another fenale character they could 've used, I did a search on other female Avenger; the only other easily recognizable name was Tigra, so I guess I should just stop being bitter.

I'm surprised you don't think "She-Hulk" is a recognizable name. That or it inexplicably didn't turn up in your search. Did it also fail to include Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, and Jessica Jones? Or Wasp, who was on the team before Captain America?

Okay, yes She-Hulk came up, but As I'm pretty sure Marvel isn't going to be using her if they're not makin a Hulk Solo film anytime soon, I didn't consider her a plausible replacement. Ms. Marvel is getting her own movie, so I also left her out of my considerations. Spider-Woman would be too confusing for the general populace, especially now that Spider-Man is actually going to be in the MCU. Jessica Jones is getting her own Netflix series and will be joining Heroes for Hire along with Luke Cage and Daredevil. And the Wasp is going to be in Ant-Man.

So I should've been more specific in mentioning my criteria; I was looking for someone with a
similar(ish enough) power set and who wasn't/isn't/won't be established in the near future.

Also, there was another name I did recognize, but again didn't meet my criteria: Mockingbird. But she's on Agents of SHIELD.

In the old Marvel days, Pietro and Wanda were a part of the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Until the "Stranger" removed Maggie from Earth did the twins get freedom from his "influence". Then they were more or less invited into the Avengers (Avengers #234 Tales of the Scarlett Witch).

Pietro is(?) married to the Inhuman Crystal, an ex flame of the Human Torch and iirc, during Joe Quesada's stint became a member of X-factor. So both twins share the best of two worlds, Avengers and X-men.

Well with such a broad search criteria I don't see how you couldn't have found something.

I don't think there's a need to disagree with NM. I took his comment about beloning in the X-Men to be a personal preference. They're two characters that straddle both teams. Up until recent revelations I've always considered them mutants and as such should be part of the X-Men world despite them having more of a history with the Avengers.

Question is, where do I even begin? The problem with comics is that there are some many story-lines built up on older ones, that its almost an impossible task to catch up on everything.

For me, whenever I thought of the twins in question, I always had their X-Men connections in mind. Their parentage by magneto, their history with the High Evolutionary, and tthe cow-woman Bova who carried them up a mountain or something. Their stint with the Brotherhood and QS' time in X-Factor were also on my mind.

The only connection I really felt they had with Avengers was during House of M, when Scarlet Witch used magic to screw up thr timeline. I was (and still am) unfamilliar with QS having much Avengers experience.

So I should've done my research before getting upset about their inclusion; however, I still feel they would be mor e appropriate in an X-Men film. Probably because I was into the X-Men comics as opposed to the Avengers as a kid.

@Shadowman: I wasn't neccassarily looking for high-profile female members. I was just trying to find other names besides She-Hulk, Spider Woman, Jessica Jones, The Wasp...and I came up with Tigra and. Mockingbird. Also Madame Hydra, but she's kinda in the latest Wolverine movie. Sort of. It's weird.

I mean, they could've used almost anybody, because almost everybody has been a member of the Avengers at some point or another. So since you think my reasoning and criteria were so bad, I ask you this: who would you pick to replace Scarlet Witch in the Age of Ultron film?

I can totally understand thinking of them as more linked to the X-men, though Wanda has spent most of her history with the Avengers, but you can't nessecarily just replace them in Age of Ultorn. Whedon brought them in for a specific reason as I understand it. Their history as sympathetic villians is a major part of the story. Again, as I understand it.... That doesn't work with just any other Avenger.

Plus they are definitly two of Whedon's favorites.

Additionally they really do have a large history as Avengers members. they were only in the Brotherhood for like 2 or three issues, with the Avengers way longer.

I checked that same article, and I stand by my findings; what can I say? I'm a picky man when it comes to characters. And it's fine that you don 't have a problem with the twins being in Avengers; like I said before, as an X-Men fan first, I prefer their ties to be with Magneto. But since I am obviously a little behind the curve when it comes to Avengers comics, I'll just stop being bitter about it.

Well you shouldn't, since there's tons of female characters you missed. Moondragon, Hellcat, Firestar, Sersi, you want me to go on? You've already made it clear you're unfamiliar with the Avengers, maybe take that as a hint and stop trying to claim things that I can disprove in two minutes on Wikipedia.

Nemesis Maximo wrote:But since I am obviously a little behind the curve when it comes to Avengers comics, I'll just stop being bitter about it.

A little? Dude, they joined the Avengers is 1965. They were only created like two years before that. That's not "behind the curve" that's just totally being unaware the curve even existed.

MTV released an "exclusive" (nothing stays exclusive on the internet) clip of Hulk vs Iron Man in AOU.

I'll link to the video as it most definitely contains spoilers on WHY they're fighting.

Motto: "Individual freedom above all else."
Even if Hulk is being controlled by Scarlet Witch I hope the fight lasts longer than that. It was a big reason I wanted to see the movie. And the Ant-Man trailer is pretty cool. Love the fighting on the train set. Sheldon Cooper's wet dream.

Their fists colliding reminded me of Cap's Shield and Mjolnir from the 1st film.
