I don't know if the fandom in general has forgotten about this. Possibly deciding to live with the feeling they would never own one. I may have even missed this being noted before. However I just stumbled across this and figured I'd pass it on so that others might see.

I would be willing to throw down $80-$100 on a painted and assembled figure depending on quality. What are your 2 cents?

I don't think they have the know-how to make this happen.

I certainly would not preorder through them, it would be through a proxy like BBTS if I did.

Well I would definitely like to get one, but he seems to be trolling on his own board.

Did he mention that when we first saw pics of the bot, he got like "thousands" of responses wanting the figure? I don't see why he can't present those emails that went out already. Seems like he's looking for more free advertisement. Howabout committing to a set number for now. Maybe try contacting BBTS, Robot Kingdom, and TFSource and gauge the big online toys shops. Fans Project was smart in keeping most of their stuff under $100 (minus Powered Commander/D.I.A. Commander). IDK, I just don't like the way they are going about this thing by "Teasing" the community. I know, he's just trying to gauge it, but c'mon. A kit, we all saw how "successful" that Drift kit went, and when I say successful, I mean "FAILURE".

But in the end, depending on size and he looks no bigger then a Voyager once in full Battle mode...I wouldn't pay more then $130...and that's me high ballin myself.

I think asking anything more than $75 or $80 from "first time" producers about the limit. Fansproject has proven itself already, so the fandom is a little more willing to pay a little more, but taht $100 mark is about it for anything voyager sized and smaller.

I told them I'd pay up to 150; however it has to be a fully assembled, fully painted figure of good quality and reviewed by my peers before I pull the trigger.

THey're a new company to the scene, and while their kits have shown promise, it's only been resin so far. A full figure needs more quality than that.

I like the idea of a model kit but for a model kit of a proper transforming design...it would be tough. Now I'm assuming MC is suggesting a true transformable model kit in their option A. The materials used for model kits just don't have the durability to stand up to the demands of transformation on even an occasional basis without loosening at a relatively rapid pace.

I think a fully pre-assembled action figure is the better route. It'd be more expensive but more functional as a Transformers figure.

I've given Mastercollectables enough attention on the news the past few months. They've gotten enough responses already, in my opinion. The 3rd parties that actually gets **** done (Mastermind Creations/CrazyDevy), are the ones that I'll praise. I've had enough of the Nova Prime shenanigans.

I'd buy it if it were fully assembled, painted and under $100. Also would have to order it through a retailer, not direct. Oh, and don't make it out of resin. Why do they do that anyway?

I had no idea these guys were so poorly received lol. Yeah resin won't fly with me either. I understand fan items being made in smaller quanitities and the prices reflecting that. On the other hand, fansproject has shown us how it should be done. I expect no less than that type of quality product. I'm hoping these do get produced because the protos look great.

Well my gripe is that we keep on seeing these pics and protos that go up for auction, and yet, as far as we know, they may be the only figures of that design we will see. It's great news if they are willing to produce the figure, but until I hear more or even if they seem half committed, it's just a tease. A tease that has been going on for months now. Still great news and a great find, but on their side, I find it kinda irritating. Do or do not, there is no try.

Fans Project may have teased us with pics of products, but at least they have always come through before. So I can wait for that Protector armor since I know they are making sure that when he gets released, we are getting a top notch product that they have produced. Even if it takes another year, I can wait. I have the CJ mod kit, all 3 Commander Armors (Pwrd Cmmndr not DIA version), and the first Superion Crossfire kit. All, IMO, are as good, if not better, then the toys they enhance. Fans Project is "The Standard" of 3rd party Transformers toys. And if anyone wants to compete with them, they should follow the model on how they have gone about their business.

This continual showing of Nova Prime in all his awesomeness is tiresome.

*edit*
I do understand that they are not business people and are infact just toys designers and fans, but they need to hire someone to do their footwork if they want to succeed. So they may be amazing at design, but I'm just unsure if they know how to actually do this on a larger scale. (and i mean as in a mass produced toy)

Yeah I caught that. I'm assuming there are cheaper more efficient ways to get this made for less. There has to be. I'm guessing FPs Defender is at least deluxe sized and he looks much more technically advanced than this guy. Defender is also allegedly going to have die cast metal as well. So... what's up with that?

If you look at the design model, it's actually pretty intricate. But if you want to mass produce this particular figure and sell it at a price that is obtainable, and they must consider the job market for most of us today and how much the regular collector is willing to spend on a third party figure. I think they have to simplify some of the design just to make it cheaper. What they presented is probably the "Best" version they can with all the details and joints possible. But they can probaby cut some cost for say the hands. I don't need articulated fingers. Nice, but IMO, I like the good ole fist with the pegs holes. It's worked well with Hasbro's stuff and I don't see a need for fingers, especially a figure this size. Maybe larger figs, sure, but not this guy. Even the commander armors hands aren't articulated. But they work. I still hope that this can be produced in a more efficent and cheaper way, because the figure is impressive nonetheless.

I didn't bother clicking the link at first, but yes, I did notice later. Still doesn't change my stance. And I also wonder, if FP can do it for less, why can't these people?

To be fair, FP's only made things up to voyager scale (CC Armor), and that wasn't a fiull figure. Nova Prime I think is at least a small leader class size figure. I can see it being that much unassembled.

I'd be interested.

I'd like to see it in the under $100 price range (considering the size of the teaser fig)

I have the Drift kit, and it's OK. Not great, but OK.

I'd buy another product from them, but Fansproject they are not.

I'm forced to agree at this point. Although I really wish they could. It really is a shame that other fan product groups get a grip on how to handle this stuff while others just seem to flounder away into nothing. Freaking CrazyDevy came out of nowhere and look at those guys! We've only known anything at all about them for a few months!
