So I was just applying the Reprolabels set to my iGear MP Coneheads, and it got me to wondering what the possibilities are for official versions down the line.

If what we've been lead to believe by online retailers holds to be true and MP-21 is Bumblebee and MP-22 is Ultra Magnus that's going to be a lot of Autobots since the last Decepticon (not counting the Soundblaster repaint). Not to mention the confirmed MP Star Saber. We also know that Hironori Kobayashi, the designer of the original MP Seeker mold, is returning to the MP line. It seems like Kobayashi could quickly fill out the Decepticon ranks with retools of his MP Seeker mold as the Coneheads. However, I must admit he would have to do something pretty impressive with these to get me to ditch my iGear versions, which are outstanding. Thoughts?

Well, iGear showed with their bootlegs (yes, there were remolded parts, but the majority of it was based directly on a Has/Tak mold) so obviously it can be done. Frankly, I'm surprised Takara hasn't done it themselves yet... With the updated Starscream, they've shown a willingness to use remolded parts on the basic mold, you'd think they'd do what's necessary to get three more highly sought after uses from the mold.

(I'd think it funny if they actually just flat-out copied whatever iGear did with their remolded parts... As much as I dislike bootlegs, if what they are ripping off is a rip off of their own original product, I'd call that just desserts!)

Each of the three are different, I don't know If that figures into it, but they aren't that different.

I agree about the disparity in the factions, even if you count the cassettes it feels like the Decepticons are borked.

On the note of additional figures. Do you think we will get a new and improved Megatron?
