Masterpiece Grimlock is one of the best transformers i have ever seen, what are the chances of us getting the other Dinobots to complete the set? id love to have the rest of them.

I'm in 2 minds about them. On one hand I'd love for them to come out. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd want them out in the immediate future either. The thing for me is that Sideswipe has set a great precedent and set things in motion for the rest of the Autobots cars- which now means that they can get 11 characters done out of 5 molds (allowing for releases of Artfire and Stepper, which would be logical choices considering all that would be needed would be Targetmaster partners who could later be reused potentially), before having to look at the remaining 4 Autobot Cars. That's forgetting about the minor retooling needed on the remaining 3 seekers, and possible V2.0 releases of Thundercraker and Skywarp, and the MP cassettes.

Considering all that, my guess is that we'll probably see MP Dinobots in about 5 years time - at which point we're all so hooked and hanging out for them that the preorders sell out 6 months prior to release

I just hope the chrome holds up on my Grimlock if the rest are 5 years away :sad:

a Skyfire would be great too :grin:

but like you said they will prob make the cars on tell the mold breaks lol

I wonder, now that there is a direct push to put everyone in scale with one another, if they will end up putting out a larger MP Grimlock before tackling the other Dinobots. I'm of two minds, if I wasn't flat broke, I'd be down with that, but already owning MP Grimlock, along with the first runs of MP Megs and Prime, I'd be a little peeved about all my obsolete Masterpieces.

I hate to be a pessimist, but they haven't even been able to release all 5 dinos in a single line anywhere. The closest they came was in Animated with only 3.

As much as I'd love to see MP Dinobots, I think the sentiments expressed in this thread are pretty accurate. MP Dinobots are several years down the road at the least. For now, I'd be happy just to get some Classics/Universe/Generations Dinobots. FoC Dinobots *might* work as stand-ins, but my Classics Grimlock and Animated Swoop are looking a bit lonely.

Thats not technically true; the 2003 Universe line released 6 Dinobots, all of which were recolours and with a couple of name changes mind you.

I think that even if they did come out with them, it'd be a problem scale wise. Already that precedent has been set and is likely to continue with 'Masterpieces' in the new scale. Would they upscale the other dinobots to make them in scale with the original Masterpiece? Or would they come out in a new scale, necessitating another Masterpiece Grimlock?

On the other hand, one might argue that the Dinobots could follow the 'old' scale and actually still be in scale with the new scale. I can only hope. I love dinosaurs, I love Transformers, and dinobots are both!

I hope they keep the scale. Why? Then the MP Dinobots would truly be on scale with the actual G1 toys. Grimlock and the gang always towered over Prime and Megs.

By a head and possibly the shoulders. MP Grimlock is at least twice the height of G! OP.

I'd LOVE a complete set of MP Dinobots. In scale with the current Grimlock would suit me just fine even though he's too small. Sadly, if it ever happens, it won't be for a few years.

I'd be happy with Classics (or yes, at a pinch FOC) versions of them all. Mostly Voyager, but I think Snarl and Swoop could probably be Deluxes.

The MP Grimlock that's out now wouldn't match the rest of the Dinobots if they come out, as he'd be shorter than them. Grimmy's mold would need to be enlarged and rereleased, or he'd have to be redone.

Though the G1 show's size reference is sort of so so, I once posted a pic of Grimlock (sort of) apologizes to Optimus. It more than suffices for me to recreate that scene.

Now, if Tomy starts going via scale, then Sludge would cost like twice owing to an apatosaur/brontosaur outsizing a T-rex........that would surely hurt our already bleeding pockets :lol:

Maybe, if in our wildest dreams the other Dinos are made, Grimlock's size would be the standard..............sigh.........only in our dreams.......

They said they're making every MP after -10 in scale(in bot mode) with -10. Unless they wanna break their own rule, they won't do that. Besides, then they wouldn't be in scale to anyone else...

Maybe if they do make a bigger MP Grimlock, they can follow up with a Pretender shell for the current MP Grimlock, justifying his existence for those who currently own him as "Pretender Grimlock". Of course, that would never happen, but I like the idea nonetheless.

Until they show that they are willing to sell secondary/fringe characters as MP....I doubt they would do the rest of them MP scale.

Grimlock is a popular character who would sell. You can't say that for the rest of them.

I agree with others on here that the likelyhood that all 5 G1 Dinobots get released as Masterpieces is unlikely for years, if at all.

If it does happen to become reality,I would be all about getting all of them. The Dinobots were some of my favorite characters. Plus my MP-08 Grimlock misses his crew.

Not to change topic, but the FOC dinobot art is totally amazing...

I'm sure it would inspire the designers to come up with some really great toys. Hopefully the FOC game can drum up a wide range of fan support for a release of all of them as voyagers or deluxes....
