YES!! Picked him up, albeit at a far greater price than Stormbringer paid. I haven't had much time to try him out, only transform him back and forth. So far my only issues are his floppy T-rex head when he's in robot mode, and his upper robot body flopping like a ragdoll while I'm trying to transform him.

His gimmicks are groovy though. In addition to what's been said before, his dino-jaw shuts for a biting action if you press his cheek, waggling his tail from side to side makes his head do the same, and his eye-colour-change, though simplistic looks great. He even has moulded jets in the soles of his feet in both modes.

Aside from the afore-mentioned compex robot-leg-to-dino-tail transformation, and his fists folding into his wrists his transformation is totally the original toy's.

His size, scale, weaponry, box, booklet and gimmicks all seem pretty neat so far. Given that I hate Grimlock as a character and most of you like or love him, I guarantee that you'll be extremely satisfied with this figure.

EDIT: Plus he comes with 14 Robot Points. That's not to be sneezed at

By the way, if you are interested - Grimlock is only stamped with Tomy. Hasbro is not stamped on this figure.

Ooh, didn't think to check that. Wonder what that does to the odds of his getting a plasticky USA release...

I think at this point, unless Takara really goes hog wild with one of these figures in the future and completely nails it, none will really be mind blowing. Prime was just so good, the bar just may be too high.

In any case, mine's paid for now, I just hope it move out of the BBTS.com warehouse tomorrow so I get it before the end of the week.

I don't own ALternator Grimlock, but I'd say if you only wanna own one Grimlock (and don't mind that his alt mode is a lot more "inaccurate" than the Classics/Henkei version), this one is definitive.

Not selling him, but considering finding the instructions and turning him back into a car. His bot mode is kind of a turd anyhow.

I'm retiring Alt Grimlock and alt.hound from my display once I have MP Grims to go with henkei hound. Just need a MP Shockwave to replace his alt now!

Got mine today :grin:

At first I was a little skeptical about the price and him being smaller for a MP, but after playing with him, I am both surprized and impressed at the detail and the quality of Grimlock and all his accessories. His leg poseability and light up fist greatly add to his extras, not to mention the little drinks even peg into the chrome serving tray! This one's definately worth owning.

Just a note for those who have him. I hear that there is a rub where the tail snaps into the leg in bot mode that can mess up the chrome on the tail. There is a note in the TFW review about this. You need to put a piece of tape (or something) over the screw on the leg where it clicks in. I have not gotten mine yet, but this will be the first thing I do when it does arrive, I don't want to pay $150 and have a messed up toy.

F*@# S@#% YES! This figure is awesome. It is on par with MP Prime. Solid construction and joints, amazing likenesses in alt and bot modes, some fun features, and it is THE DEFINITIVE GRIMLOCK. Period. Bye-bye Alt Grimlock, welcome MP Grinlock!
