I really doubt it. Wal-Marts seem to get the Masterpiece figures, so I really doubt that's going to change as it has worked well for all parties involved(they usually sell out in a day).

I think it would have been surprising if Grimlock wasn't released in the States...this is a guranteed retail hit for Hasbro.

Odd how MP SS retailed for $50 (the correct price for that figure, IMO), Warpie will be about $60, from what I understand? And here, we are predicting Grimlock will be at least $60, probably $70, and $80 isn't out of the question.

And this is in a span of a couple years with an economy that became progressively worse as these figures became more expensive.

There's some sort of social commentary that probably can be wrung out of that, but what is is, the hell I know. I'm just still smarting over paying another $30 for a Powerglide who should have been red the whole time.

If I would have known I would become such a slave to TFs, I would have stuck to my M.A.S.K. action figures back in '84(by the way, funny parody of the latter on Robot Chicken, if you've never seen).

Anywho, I'm predicting about $69.99 for Grimlock.

I see what you guys are talkin bout. However, the last 2 masterpiece figs released in the US (Starscream & Skywarp) were Walmart exclusives and had the price of $49.99. If this is a mass retail production then I believe it will be close to the Prime price. But if this happens to be a Walmart exclusive, I can totally see it being $49.99.

All things considered, I would actually pay 69.99 for MP Grimlock. Been paying 50 plus for TFs at BBTS.

I like the MP Grimlock design and the relatively high pricing of the figure has helped me have little desire to acquire the figure. However, a Hasbro release of the figure at a lower price point makes it something I'd consider buying.

my god you guys are all high. If Hasbro includes the working electronics (light up sword) which I hope they do, I seriously doubt he'll go for less than $80. I hope I'm wrong, of course I'd like the lowest price possible (with electronics incl. still) but I'm being realistic. I also hope he gets a unique paint job for the US release as well, keeping in line with G1 of course. And I'll reiterate -no TRU exclusive please. Don't feel like paying the import price here.

I don't know how much they'll charge to be honest. But as far as electronics go, they're in all the Leader class figs (and even Ultra figs) which are comparable in size and those still run well below $80. It's a single light in Grimlock's hand. Nothing overly fancy...

No, there is a gimmick with the eyes where you can switch them to be red or blue, but it's not an electronic feature.

See, originally I was gonna jump on beard about how this is great news and I'll finally be able to get one, and all that... only then I found out my girlfriend ordered me a Grimmy for my birthday, and we now wait patiently for it to arrive in the mail... Still, though... pretty kickin for everyone else!
