does anyone know if this figure will somehow be released another way? I don't want to buy another soundwave (soundblaster)just for the ratbat, and I don't want to pay the insane ebay costs. so does anyone know if this will be released as less expensive alternative to get this cassette?

Yeah, I was wondering this as well. I'd like to get a RatBat just because in the comics he was his own character (and a commander, no less) instead of just 1 of Soundwave's minions. I was just gonna buy a Soundblaster with RatBat and either keep it in tape deck mode or sell it by itself and keep RatBat. Or, if he won't be officially sold by himself, maybe I'll get lucky and someone will sell 1 on eBay or 1 of the online stores.

I wish I wasn't in this same boat as well. Right now the ONLY option is to bite the bullet and buy Soundblaster.
Or wait and maybe a KO will come out.

Personally, I think that Soundblaster looks cooler than Soundwave, so if I could get Soundblaster (and that's a BIG "if"), I would.

And, with both Soundwave and Soundblaster able to hold three tapes each, all six tapes would be able to be stored within both of their chests evenly and completely.

As an individual release, i'd say slim to none -that's Soundblaster's hook.
I'll be selling my Soundwave once Soundblaster & Ratbat arrive, so i'm not really bothered by it

Perhaps we will see a knock off of Ratbat as well as the other cassettes. Only time will tell.

Yeah, why would we want a two-pack with one of the figures that comes with Soundwave? If Ratbat were released in a 2-pack, it should be with something not included with Soundwave.

But to answer the original question... what are the chances? Probably slim-to-none.

well I have soundblaster on pre-order now... ill put ratbat with soundwave, and the other guy will go to my black repaint shelf... mp-09b, mp-10b,g2 sideswipe, and now soundblaster.

Personally I'm gambling on people selling Ratbats seperately on eBay. Yeah, they'll be pricey, but not as bad as Soundblaster, which I'm not interested in.

Somewhat related question. The G1 Ratbat toy comes with 2 weapons (whatever they are) and I have seen them in gold and silver variants. Are they both legit, or is 1 the knockoff?

They're both legit. There actually were 2 different variants (one silver, one gold). I always did prefer the gold myself though. It fits in with the purple and black better I think (and of course it's what he had in the cartoon).

because I didn't buy Soundwave either, just the TakaraTomy 2packs.
