donny1975 wrote:How is everyone? Been lurking here and there in the threads but not really all that active for the past few weeks since I have been busy with family obligations and of course work...
But this weekend I got to spend Friday, Saturday and today doing some work on my project.
Got a ton of stuff done...I finished painting the mountain, got everything test fit (photos) then glued the Ark into the bottom half of the mountain. The top portion will be removable so it can be ported more easily. I am using some dowel rods to peg the top and bottom together, hopefully it's not to gappy we'll see after the glue dries and I can peg it in...
I also finished up the repair bed. I want to put some more detail on but it's painted, stickered and lit up.

shajaki wrote:Funny, I was going to hop in this thread today to see if you'd done any more work (and were still alive)
Once again, its just phenomenal and I can't wait to see it done!

You mean this thing?donny1975 wrote:Ok so I started scratch building a side-board computer to go next to teletraan and fill out that wall.
Cobotron wrote:Everything is looking good. It's really coming together.
Don't give up now. You can DO IT!
Cobotron wrote:Hey, for the trees, could you cut of the bases and drill holes in the plywood and just insert them? Maybe a little glue?

I always thought that strange rabbit ear'd thing WAS Teletraan

LOL! Funny you mention it but I already have a few sketches of decepticon base, and since it was underwater and the most frequently seen part of the based was that telescoping tower...I want to make the outside look like that tower.
I am planning on doing a cross section of a cylinder (lengthwise) and making it two levels since it will take up less of a foot print than the Ark diorama...I am just trying to puzzle out how make that draw-bridge door to open and close onto the 2nd level.

Bloody hell mate I was only joking! I'm still amazed by your Ark without you teasing more projects.
I was hoping you would make the Decepticon shipdonny1975 wrote:Ha! Thanks much appreciated but I gotta start teasing the next project since this one is almost done and the 'Cons need a home too!leakin' lubricant wrote:Bloody hell mate I was only joking! The bases actually just pop off! So I did just what you said LOL drilled holes to match the pegs of the trees.

Yes you suggestion made me look at popping the bases off. If I come into a stash of them I wouldn't mind trying it for the walls.
Not sure where I could get a bunch of them for this project. ...

I finished the last piece that I'll be putting in the diorama for now. Need to focus on something else.
