McDonald's Darkside Moon Week 1 Figures

These are the Week 1 figures for the Transformers: Darkside Moon Happy Set (Happy Meal) campaign at McDonalds.

First a few shots of the packaging and accessories.

Pretty sure there's not as much kanji on Western McDonald's bags.

First up is Optimus Prime.

As you can see, the paint applications are pretty basic. However, the sculpted detail is pretty impressive. If you've got a few minutes and a few Gundam Markers, you could make this thing look very nice.

If you flip the switch on the figure's back, it enables noise/vibration activated sounds. Optimus makes three sounds. The first is a variation of the classic transforming sound. The second is the sound of a laser firing. The third is Optimus yelling "Toransufomu!"

Next up is Bumblebee.

Bumblebee stands about a head shorter than Optimus. The figure's gimmick is a few light-up panels on the chest. When the figure is placed under a light, pressing the Autobot symbol on the included remote control activates flashing red lights.

Like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee features a minimal paint application, but plenty of sculpted detail (not as much as Optimus,) so customizers will have an easy time of "upgrading" everyone's favorite yellow Autobot.

This is the full extent of Optimus and BB's posing options.

They are pretty good sized figures.

Both Optimus and BB are available until August 12th, or while supplies last. As part of a five-piece McNugget meal, each figure costs 470 yen. Wave 2 of Happy Set toys come out on August 5th.
