I was asked to show how to do this, so here's a little video explaining and demonstrating it.
Before I get knocked too bad,...I don't make videos so it's not the greatest quality. And the microphone built in the little camera was a bit overwhelmed by the volume.
Around the :40 second mark I'm saying to use the edge of your pick *pickscrape* to approximate the sound, kinda hard to hear me say it.
Anyway, enjoy. I hope some of you ax slingers get some use out of this.

that's where "practicing" comes in.

It's when you break away from that and start doing your own thing that you seperate the men from the boys. But anyone can learn to play. It's mechanical muscle memory. Just like riding a bike.
