Mirage and Wheeljack

Postby Briggs » Sat Nov 24, 2007 11:41 pm

I know why G1 Mirage and Wheeljacks are more expensive then other autobot cars, but what's the reason that alternators wheeljack and mirage are harder to find figs and/or more expensive?

Kind of an odd coincidence :-\

Weapon: Sword
Both were short packed and Mirage was towards the end of the line when stores were cutting back on the Alts. Too bad, though. Both are great figures. And yes, it is a coincidence.

Motto: "If you feel my lightning, you will never hear the thunder."
I will have to definitely agree with you on that account in terms of Mirage and Wheeljack.

Yes there was.

It was European stock, that mysteriously disappeared before it reached European stores.

Actually, it's not too coincidental when you consider that name recognition alone would push many to buy those two... Added to the fact that the Ford molds were some of the best in the Alt line, and these two figures were popular before they even hit the shelves. Too bad, like you said, that they were short packed in many places...

I went and got mine for 70$ or so on ebay a long time ago, then a week later i went to TRU and found one for 29.. haha.

I usualy open all my alternators, transform them once then leavae them for fear of breakign them or something, but I wouldnt open my mirages so i went and found a loose one for $40 and i don't thin i've "played" wtih an alterator this much befre. I've actually dropped him 3-4 times too :O

he is quite the mold though!

Not all of them. I can safely say that all the alternators I've bought thus far are top notch in term of plastic quality and paint job.

It's all down to the multi-lingual packaging. Hasbro US only puts English on theirs.

The european packing has the pic of the toy instead of the cartoon on the box right? I'm not sure bout mine coz I haven't actually seen it yet.. I'm at my parents house and my brother picked up the Mirage for me.. Sigh, another month till I finally get to lay hands on him... He's my only alt too..
