To the US, it was $14.35. Yes, I caved in.

Ouch almost $80 to ship to the US... I think I'll wait for BBTS to get it, If they can't lower the price it'll be only $5 extra I guess with a POL going. I shall see.. What I really want is a Tarn from MMC!

What size class is this Cynicus toy. Guessing Voyager height with a deluxe narrow bulk.

The guy that did the review in Japanese a page back showed a lot comparisons. He is a tall modern day deluxe in height.

I'll probably hold off on purchasing this.

Not entirely MMC's fault. I'm also wondering if these sorts of factory cost increases are behind the increasing Hasbro figure cost...![]()

Uh, yes it is, this is their production, they need to take responsibility for it. Cynicus is not worth 80 dollars anyway you cut it, BBTS's 90+ with shipping, or PSX 80+ with shipping. He's worth the price of an Azelea Unit, and I hope they, solus and elita, aren't going to the same price, because they damn sure ain't worth it.

Just hoping MMC rushes the releases of all of these DJD toys and their repurposed toys. So I can get my MMC Carnifex toy sooner rather than later.

Without completely derailing the thread, how do you figure? Do you know what sorts of factory costing structures MMC is dealing with? Can you say for sure that there would have been a cheaper option, still with the high standards of quality MMC has established?
Agamemnon wrote:I'm not trying to pick a fight. I just have been with a company that had to deal with a very similar situation. Yes, our customers were not happy with price increases (as we were not with out vendors' price increases). But, it is a very large moving target to try to get effective costing as well as value. Indeed, if this pricing drives customers away, MMC will likely need to adjust, or go out of business...

Agamemnon wrote:[Edit] One more thing on comparing those two figures above, how much time has elapsed between releases? Is that even a fair comparison, as far as production costs go? How we each value the figure, however, wouldn't really matter as far as time, I guess....

Agamemnon wrote:Right, but Screecher was manufactured some time ago, right? I don't think it's a completely fair comparison as far as production costs go. That was really my main point. If the factory costs go up, I'm not sure that I would agree that it's MMC's "fault." (there'd also be some arguments for complexity, with Cynicus looking far more complex than Screecher, and comes with an additional face. But, that wasn't really part of the argument I was trying to make.)
Also, this is all predicated on the one message from MMC about trying to find ways of reducing costs. *shrug* I guess it all comes down to whether or not one wants to buy it. If it's too expensive, it won't sell, market forces and all. I just think it's a little harsh to call out MMC like this, especially with the explanations offered.

Guessing because it's a huge gamble. As the DJD toys are niche items like the PWTOO Pretender toys are.
