Except the head. They just didn't really come close, IMO.
The light piping was too dark, so it really doesn't work and it gives him elongated bug eyes as a result. And the shape is too round overall. If you look at the fig, its not for any functional reason. The head just sits under the front end. So it's not like it was done for part of the transformation process. =(
So I'm going to try and adapt the Robot Replica head to attach to the smaller balljoint on the figure. It's about the same size head, it's the closest to the real head design and looks pretty decent.
Now, the figure itself and the head need some major paint app treatments to be perfect. That's on my agenda at some point. But overall, the RR head doesn't really look that out of place to me as-is. Any thoughts? I know the blah grey plastic on the head makes it look funky in contrast to the black plastic on the body but looking past that, I think it fits well.
BTW, I found this on eBay. This guy's giving JinSaotome a run for his money! Spot on Battle helmet. Decent job overall, but the helmet is the highlight of it.
