leave it to TAk/Tom to up the anty...I for one am probably getting the Takara version, Diecast, and generally they have better paint applications, like for instance Chrome coloring!!! Or look at the Beast wars 10th anniversary, those paint applications are very nice.. i hope Prime gets the special treatment, and maybe even a touch of the Robo vision colors as well.. hmm you got the touch, Robo Vision Prime... the power... Yeah!!! The touch of metallic paint and lightened blues which make you a star..I'll wait to see final images of the Takara version first before I order...

the movie is going to be awesome, the movie figures are going to be even better.. finally something different, not the same faces as always, and it's nice to see transformers evolving. it's nice. and if you are soo against it, i don't see how you can be a fan in the first place.. if anything these figures are a giant step up from energon/armada/and cybertron crap. they're even a step up from the classics line. these figures just simply look better, partly because they're new, and it's awesome to see the new incarnations of these characters. it would really really suck if they used closer to the g1 designs for the movie, the g1 characters would be annoyingly simple for a live action movie, it's great that they have tons of movin parts, and intricate faces, i don't see how anyone can't appreciate this modern take on such a classic idea/product.

An abomination? Why so?
I appreciate the die cast in this toy because, while I'm not one of those people that prefers die cast, it's nice to know that die-cast fans may be satisfied. Sadly, given that Hasbro are going to release a version here that will be cheaper and easier to get, I won't be buying this. Why waste the money and have the hassle? It should be a fantastic toy, though.

I could see this coming long ago.
This is just how Takara operates, and why they, in my opinion make better toys than even Yamato, Bandai, and Toynami.
I have examples of each company on my shelf...except Toynami, but I have not heard good things about them. Yamato's 1/60 VF-1J with FAST packs, for example is made of the crappiest plastic imaginable...and don't get me started on the legs FALLING OFF A 6,000 Yen FIGURE! lol
I compare this to Bandai's reissue of the VF-1S Super Valk, the original, and it is sublime. Sturdy, feels like a tank.
Such is the case with most of Takara's work. My God Ginrai C-310 reissue is also, built like a tank.
But Hasbro's not so bad until you pay nearly $100 for a valk from yamato that spontaneously dissassembles itself.
Then tell me how bad Hasbro's QC is. lol

Looks like a KILLER Figure to me, dude. I especially like how they are highlighting the Automorph features in the above pic. I'll HAVE to get one of these. I just hope the Megatron figure matches up...

Even if I don't like the movie one bit, i like this toy, and i'll probably get the hasbro version since plastic is less expensive to ship than die cast
