And yes, I agree that he bears more than a passing resemblance to everyone's favorite Dwarf! I actually had the Lord of the Rings trilogy playing during the entire creation process of the head ( and it may have influenced the shape of his helmet a bit...) I finished it just before the battle of Helms Deep.
As for everyone who doesn't quite know what to make of the beard, don't fret. That just means that it's doing it's job!

I think the whole point was that the hair would be completely out fo place. That is what makes it so perfect for a character made basically out of junk

I originally bought Lugnutz with the idea of making him into CyKill! I think I made the right choice.

Here he is! Still more work to go, but I think that he's already looking pretty spiffy.

this is one excellent kitbash. mind you, Wreck-Gar almost only bears a passing semblance to his G1 counterpart, but looks a lot more like Gimli (as others have said) but still, looks great! the orange really works well on him, kinda like the classic 1950's tow trucks you Americans used to use back then, but this time without the automotive paint, only metal primer.

by the way, did you bash Longarm's head for this? and doesn't all that hair get in the way of the transformations - i mean, it might get stuck one way or another....

but anyhow, i'm very interested on what will you do next to this mod in order to bring him as close to his G1 counterpart as possible. keep it up!

Thanks! I've always been amused by robots with facial "hair"- Unicron, Cyclonus, Alpha Trion... I even like Classics Bumblebee's soul patch!

Thank you very much! Yep, that's Longarm's head under there. A few dabs of epoxy putty, some carving, a bit of fake fur and here we are. Check out Wheel_Jack's custom Gears for a different (and excellent) take on this same mold.
I feel pretty good about where WG is now, so unless I get a stroke of inspiration, I'm going to leave him as is. I wasn't going for a perfect likeness of G1 WG, he's more of a "what if" design.
The Gimli resemblance is half intentional and half unavoidable. They look alike! The funny thing is that Longarm's kibble already looks a bit like Gimli's armor around the shoulders and wrists. If you want to take this Gimli/ Wrech-Gar even further there's an awesome Transformers/ Lord of the Rings mash-up trailer on YouTube with WG as Gimli!
Here are some undercarrage shots. As you can see, his beard lies unencumbered between his knees and behind his cannon.


The only thing that I'm thinking about adding to Wreck-Gar now is his wife Nancy!

Love the work seems the beard is a love have thing but for what it is worth i think it looks amazing i always thought TFs with beards was funny to . Think everyone agrees though that wire dreads are in!
