MP-02 Ultra Magnus waist problem!!

Postby sardotron » Wed Mar 03, 2010 6:01 pm

Hey guys, i'm new in the forum, but already know the site for a while, if i'm posting this in the wrong forum i'm sorry, but i didn't find other place to post it, ok let's go to the point..., i have bought ultra magnus masterpiece from TFSource a few months ago, and as i never had a masterpiece before i had no ideia how the waist articulation should behave, well, now that my optimus prime masterpiece arrived and i saw how it really works, i found out that my ultra magnus it's messed up, the joint mecanism of his waist it's not working, i don't know if i'll be able to explain this correctly but i'll try, the torso and the waist part must fit together in some kind of peg in a shape of a half circle, then we should put the screw on it, but the problem is that even with the screw tightened up, this parts won't "lock" to each other and there's no "clicks" of the mecanism, so the waist turnes loose and i can't pose him right because the torso keeps turning back to the center, now i'm trying to find a way to fix it, anyone could give an ideia or maybe if anyone had the same problem could tell me how can i do it???

Tks in advance guys. =]

Hmm, from what you have described it seems as though the ratchet in his waist isnt working.

I am assuming that you were referring to the flat piece that connects directly to the waist section with one screw in the middle it also has the silver grille connected to it.

I have never taken this apart so cant offer any help I am afraid. I dont really want to in case I stuff the mechanism up.

If you cannot get the figure replaced then perhaps jamming some paper between the two pieces would stop it moving?

Yes that exactly the peg and screw i'm talking about, but i think i got it, i thought about the paper you thing you talk about, but the only thing it fit well was to put some glue that people use on handcraft, (the on that when it's dry, the texture looks like rubber), so i use it on the hole and put the ratchet peg in it, to let just the glue fill the empty space between the hole and the peg, then i remove the peg and let it dry for some time, after that i just plug them and tightened up the screw and let them rest, guess what??? It worksssss :KREMZEEK: , well i don't really know if the "putty work" i did with that glue worked, or if that stuff just glue them together, but now it's working, and i'm little afraid of try to unscrew to take some pictures to post #-o , but tks for the attention and the replis Ravage, i appreciate, i can say that you save my day with the paper ideia.
