Tformers.com member Rojo has stated that Masterpiece 05 Megatron will be due out in Japan on March 30th. With less than a month away it is still unclear how this toy will be shipped to online stores. Will it be modified or unmodified to pass US Customs?

Well - I'm getting him unmodded from hlj - shipped to Europe.

Maybe people should try to get him shipped to friends/family in Canada and then just bring him in over the border as a regular robot toy with a box?

Well from what I understand, the caps are gonna be placed in the end of the barrel, and if forced, will be removable. I photo-shopped what it might look like, and I found some regulation caps for toy guns produced here in the US.

yeah i'm in luck and have a buddy in Japan right now so he can get one and bring it stateside with him when he gets back, I just have to wait until August, painful but well worth it.

Now we need someone to kitbash a stock and silencer and the package will be complete

We'll be lucky if we can just get MP-05 without incident, forget a second Megatron for now. Hopefully they will release just the silencer and stock by themselves like they did with Prime's Trailer for those that bought MP-01.

A silencer would bring up a good question though. If Megatron gets a capped barrel, will the scilencer be able to be attached?

I was actually thinking the same thing. I didnt point this out due to it not being designed for the U.S. market to begin with. I'm not sure takara would really hesitate coming out with a "perfect" kit down the line simply because the U.S. has issues surpassing its own laws.

Takara has already released 3 figures based on the Prime Mold MP-01, MP-02 (Magnus repaint), and MP-04. I wouldn't put it past them to release another Megatron again down the line. They love reusing those molds. If they were to release a second Megatron, I actually hope it is the Black with Brown wooden handle, scilencer, and stock version. That is the only thing that would peak my interest in wanting to have to endure this whole mess again.

While I am thinking about it, Takara ought to release Ultra Magnus' trailer that would convert into his armour. I'd consider MP-02 in that case as would many other people.

you know from a marketing stand point how successful selling figure upgrades are. For instance product B is an upgrade or accessory to product A. Granted product B is of limited use without A so its audience is limited to those that bought A.

One could say that with combiners but on their own they are a functional toy, but with the whole set you get something extra.

With them wanting to make minicons for the smaller price point wouldn't it be interesting to see some minicons made as say targetmasters that turn into guns or other accessories that the TFs can use using the standard peg systems they have now.

I pre ordered mine from TF Source. If I get one unmodded, go me, if not I guess I'll live with it.

Thats what I was going to say, most barrel caps are open ended like the ones for the airsoft guns

Ah $h!t It's comming out in Japan March 30? What about the US? I was hopeing I'd be able to find him some time this month so I'd at least have him in the same Month as my B-day.

Oh well guess I'll have to find something elce to spend my b-day cash on... and I probly won't even spend it on myself either.
