It really should come as no surprise that after Prowl and Smokescreen were announced as the next Masterpiece figures, that a Bluestreak would follow. Lo and behold this morning that Site Sponsor BigBadToyStore announced MP-19 Bluestreak for $79.99

As there are no images of this figure yet, let us harken back to his first incarnation and drool over what will be the third of the Datsun Trio.

He wasn't blue in the cartoon, so I doubt it. He'll probably be silver with the black hood like on the show.

Is it Bluestreak or Silverstreak? Either way it's a Fairlady Z, at least I hope it still is.

Very true. I guess I may have to re-think. Okay as long as he isnt entirely silver ala Alternators Series.

Of course lets face it, the blue version will likely be another release. Hello MP-19B!. You heard it here first!

Why are they giving these new MP models whole-number codes - 17, 18, 19... isn't it likely some will just be repaints of eachother? Or are they really to be entirely unique molds?

Glad you asked! In Japan, it shouldn't matter he's just called Streak. :lol:

When Hasbro released him in 1984, he was called Bluestreak, even though he was silver. That's because of a Diaclone deco that had him in blue with a silver hood, that deco went unused for Transformers.
Fast forward to the reissues, he was renamed Silverstreak due to Hasbro's inability to claim the Bluestreak name. Nowadays Hasbro has both names, but Bluestreak is seeing more use now, look at Kre-O and GDO Legends Bluestreak

And I'm not surprised at all. MP-19P Streak Proto Color version anyone? ;;)

Only straight redecos get a letter, retools get a whole new number. To illustrate the possible changes from MP-17 Prowl:

MP-18 Smokescrean: new head, lightbar removed, new vehicle front end, spoiler
MP-19 Streak: lightbar removed, minor cosmetic changes.

well isn't that interesting. i always figured he was called "blue" because he was a cop car and the whole connection to police and the color blue. lol

so yeah it turns out i confused two characters....dont know how to delete a post so here i am showing how blonde i am. lol

I really love these but am holding out for the Hasbro Versions

Really hope Hasbro Brings out Sideswipe, Red Alert , these 3 datsun guys and the tapes, including Lazer beak ( but separate from soundwave )

After the ridiculously difficult and stessful experience of trying to find Hasbro's MP-10 at retail, I'm happy to pay more for the Takara version, especially for these smaller ones. I'm sure Hasbro would sell them for less but I doubt the availability would be any better than the last few MPs.

Let's face it... there has never been a confirmed blue Bluestreak in the TF line. While it's a fun holy grail Diaclone item — and certainly one I'd want to buy as an eHobby exclusive — my FIRST priority would be the show accurate (and toy accurate) version in silver/black.

Mind you, if anyone has a link to confirm a MISB blue bluestreak, I'd certainly love to see it.

I could be colored red for all I care. He's got an incredible character development and amazing firepower for an Autobot of his size.

Streak & Prowl are both Fairlady-Zs. Replacing a windows roof with a siren and black paint really doesn't justify a new MP number... should be MP-18p and MP-18b.

MP-3 Starscream, MP-6 Skywarp, and MP-7 Thundercracker were all redecos of each other, with only their face scuplts being different between one another.
