to answer you question, GRIMLOCK came out online for sale.... like today of last year and didnt show in norfolk, Va tru store till August 20th. to top that off they only recieve one case of 3 grimlocks!!!! i know because i was the first one to get it at my tru. i have a buddy that if i show him an image he will hold the one for me but on this account he held a case. i only brought one at the time because i wanted someone else to get a grimlock. how long they lasted... less than two days on the store shelf. how do i know? i when to buy one for a friend two day later and they where gone!!!!! i waited for second shipment for a buddy and it never happened!!!!!

i do hate how fellow collectors have to compete with one another to get various items.

Well, before reading the comments here I purchased one on ebay for over $100 (didn't realize BBTS had them as well, I paid less than what BBTS was asking, but I feel more secure purchasing from them, so to me it's worth the extra $).

Like many of you, I have no Toys R' Us near me (closest one is over 2 hours away ). I have the Takara version, but wanted this one because I like the red deco (G1 Targetmaster toy style) better than the traditional pink and the flame deco looks better on the TRU release IMO.

The ones on ebay appear to be from people attending the ComicCon and buying them up to scalp them on ebay for high prices (some of which are pre-orders, so be aware if you go the same route that I did).

Mine shipped as well, should arrive shortly.

If your paying more than retail for Rodimus you must be stupid or have money to waste.

Anyone who remembers Grimlock last year, knows this is exactly how he went as well.

Small amount available online a few more pop up over SDCC.

Then nothing to the rest of the shipment comes in a mth or two.

Hell until recently there were still TRU with Grimlock in stock even.

Relax and save your money for now.

I do have a fairly decent amount of disposable income, but I do not consider myself to be stupid.

I never wanted Grimlock, so I didn't pay any attention to how its release went.

If that's true, and they'd be available online (remember, my nearest TRU is over 2 hours away), then I certainly should have waited. If that is the case, next time I will wait, thanks for the advice .

Is the retail price supposed to be $50 or $60?

I am going to try my local toysrus since it is sold out for shipping.

Some of you guys may already know this, but:

Went to my local TRU and talked to a very kind sales rep. She looked everything up and said that they reset their merchandise at the first or second week of every month. And (as someone else had told me earlier on here) that the shelves are restocked on Tuesday/Wednesday. So for those who missed out on the online deal (and have a TRU to travel to), be on the look out starting in August....

I have to admit I'm surprised at the direction this discussion is moving. When pictures first appeared of this guy, many people seemed unsatisfied with it, other than the Targetmaster. NOW, there seems to be a little warmongering going on over getting one. Odd.

I want one for the brighter colors, G1 Hot Rod stickers, and the targetmaster. He will look nice next to the Takara Rodimus Prime. For anyone who missed this, I believe patience will pay off. Certainly Hasbro made more than a few hundred of these things. They will be back, and everyone who missed out this go around will celebrate later.

I asked the CSM at my local TRU today and she had no idea what I was talking about So I showed her some pictures from the SDCC page and she still drew a blank. I legft the store and contacted their service line and I sawear she was the one who answered. After about 10 minutes of searching she found that my TRU's shipments wont be until August or so. So I guess it's checking TRU day after day for them since I know their shipping dates are wonky as hell....

Of course, I have no idea when the thing will be available in Canadian TrU.
And TrU is no help for the info. They don't even have the DotM "Scan" figures yet!

Anyone have a clue?

Package is coming this week by UPS. I bought one for me and few extras to sell..

How much you selling them for? It would have been nice to just have one for myself but between the multiple orders placed by others and company's like BBTS guess I missed out completely.

My 3 will be here tomorrow or Thursday, can't wait.

Thanks GetRightRobot, I'm glad someone else other than I recalls how the majority was speaking and beefing! And who thought there would be as many fans as there are who are trying to get their hands on at least one!

Me, I'm happy that Hasbro did something right and simply produced Hot Rod/Rodimus/Rodimus Major. Someday down the road I may buy the Takara version and have Rodimus Prime next to it. I do hope more arrive at stores for those that missed out but IMHO I have doubts about those so called peices that were actually made.

It will depend on how much they sell it on ebay but I can give a little discount through other website just to avoid the ebay fees. Same checkout with paypal so the transaction will be safe. buyer gets little discount, I get lower fees..You need to message me and tell me where the package is going for It should be reserved. already reserved for one person.

My two should arrive tomorrow. Probably should have snagged a third one to trade/sell but couldnt justify it with all the other stuff Ive bought lately.

If these follow the same path as Grimlock there will be plenty filling the shelves of the TRU by me. In fact, they just sold the last Grimlock a month or so ago.

Really? Where u from? Cause in my local tru, exclusives are always out.

It's awesome, just got my order. Even if you had to pay 10-20 extra it's definitely worth the money. Everything's fixed, back tab, legs, solid all the way round. The box is small though, it'll fool you if you get it in by mail and the insert does NOOT want to go back in right. MP Roddy fevah Whoooooooo!!!!!!

A little bit taller than Grimlock, grows another half inch roughly. We need Galvatron next but I'm sure it'll probably be another Megatron resized.

had a $70 credit at bbts so i got the takara release trailer and all for 80 personally i prefer the chrome. if i find him at retail i MIGHT get him but im not freaking out too much. as far as people wanting him now i think the price decrease is a major factor. if this is the original takara mold which i think it is then your only out 50-80 depending on what you got him for as opposed to the almost 220 they originally wanted.

Got mine yesterday! I'm thrilled with him. I only wish they had kept the Masterpiece line at the same size as Optimus and Megs, but he definitely represents the character ideally, and the trailer would just have taken up extra space and cost.

I tried setting him up with Prime in that grip from the fight in Dark Awakening. "If you lose... Autobots... all... destroyed!" Alas, Rodimus is just too small for it. However, he is now surfing on the back of Optimus in his truck mode, so all is good.

The only extra chrome on the Takara is on the rims and small matrix, only thing different is paint apps for the most part. TRU still has the chrome pipes.
