MP Sideswipe - reissue vs G2 version
So let me get this straight - the "red G1" reissue is just the (improved) OG figure, the G2 figure comes with extra guns and sword. Anyone know if it will also have the QC improvements?
I'm leaning towards the G2 figure because I am not particularly wed to sideswipe wearing red, and I like extra accessories. Anybody got 2c?

My GUESS would be that the G2 version will use the improved mold. I only say that because it comes out at the same time as the 2nd run of the red version. But I'm just guessing.

Did Sideswipe have any issues other than paint? Mine seems fine.
G2 Sideswipe also comes with the spiked wheels for his shoulders.

I was under the impression that the 2nd production run was meant to:
(1) Fix the paint issues many (but by no means all) people experienced with the 1st run
(2) Bash the after market in the face (by giving people who missed out an affordable MP)
I don't think they changed the actual mold in any way. But if they did, I would suspect they made a slight tweak to the hands so he can hold his gun better.

TFsource refers to "QC issues" being fixed but doesn't say what those issues were.

As I said - it's most likely the paint. That was the only real, widespread QC complaint out there.

I ended up going with the G2 version, as I got a killer import price on it in the mid 50s plus shipping.
I do agree with wilcosu35 for a reissue of the Red Alert; i admire the toy but i am not going to pay a hundred plus for it.

Is that offer still available and if so would you share the source?

Would you settle for a link offering it in the mid 40s + shipping instead?

That's a great price! $45 + $15 S/H.

You do have the option to pay later, too. Although 'later' looks to be fairly soon for this figure...

Does anyone know how come none of the Japanese sites have pre-orders up for the Sideswipe reissue?

Re: MP Sideswipe - reissue vs G2 version
The G2 Sideswipe leaves me wanting a Geoff Senior Grimlock (Rambo-Bandanna and "Big Grim" decals), Derek Yaniger head and guns for Prime and a Starscream in bright white and pink-tone red.
