Actually, there is plenty of reason why they couldn’t, and, yes, caterpillar treads do have to be simple metal plates linked together. Otherwise, they wouldn’t function or support the weight of the vehicle. Caterpillar treads are one of the most low-tech forms of locomotion, aside from wheels, and that simplisity is necessary for it to function. A caterpillar tread is a simple continuous belt of heavy metal plates linked together surrounding a set of wheels. If you cut the belt, it falls open. Nothing will stop that. There is no place for any gimmicks, or tech, or what-have-you, to keep the belt from falling apart if you break any of the links.

Anyway. It's an awesome build. I'm not overly fond of that era of tank (What is that, a Pershing?) but over all the thing looks great. I'd love to see some more dynamicly posed shots of him.

There is no question about that. It is definately an excellent build.

I really like how it has a Red Oxide Primer look to it... it makes you think that the tank is being restored.

Actually I agree. Maybe use a Flat Tan and Dry brush it on and around the tracks?

Either way this thing is still pretty BA.

Don't want to muddy him up, too much. Wasn't Warpath supposed to be kind of OCD on the dirt issue?

I don't know guys, I love to keep my transformers clean as you guys notice with my other customs. Though I considered the dirty look as I was shopping for paints, but I still favor the clean look. Just like MP Prime, I didn't mind paying the extra bucks for Takara version over the battle damage look that Hasbro made.

I say keep it clean like I mentioned the color puts me in a base Red Oxide Primer, so it looks like they are restoring an old tank...in such it would need to be clean :D

Warpath’s vanity pretty much extended only as far as his gun barrel, which he was exceptionally proud of. He liked to keep that as clean and scratch-free as possible. He didn’t care about the rest of his appearance, but would be mortified if even a dent or scratch appeared on the gun.

My email is: rdactyl@aol.com please email me there and thank you for your time.
I await your reply,
thank you,

Graig Dude stand down man, this is what PM's are for.

Flashing a few hundreds in front of fans so you can own anothers hard work may anger some Transfans. So may I suggest stop coming off so strong, and so this thread doesnt swerve massivaly from the subject.
Just Pm those you wish to buy from its easier and doesnt resurect old dead threads.

A-Freaking Mazing

Postby TM angrycelt » Tue Feb 13, 2007 5:04 pm

Ok, so I have no talent in kitbashing or modding... (piles of shattered chinese import knockoffs can attest to that), but I appreciate the amazing skill it takes.

But, I had to create an account here just so I could comment on how impressive this project is. Beautiful work.
