also, judging by this picture, http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... ntid=21989, it looks like there's also a different paint scheme. a less metallic gold that looks more like the comic and also the sword is orange instead of clear.

It also looks like the black legs/head are replaced with dark blue, like the comics.

Yes sir, you are correct.

Interesting that this is a nod to the comic-might have to get this for display purposes and for the box. But in bot mode, I still prefer the original.

That this is more of a repaint than just another release with different accessories makes it a little less lame of a move...however, that they do these relatively minor repaints in general (Hasbro especially...sad to see TakTom following suit) remains something of an annoyance to me. Repainting a fig is one thing, but repainting something to the point the two have to be sitting next to each other to notice the difference, or pulling the old "premium" trick wins you the thumbs down award in my book.

The better sword annoys me. Couldn't they have made one "ultimate" Grimlock instead? You know? The best representation possible? Whachamacallit ... a Masterpeice of Grimlock?

Oh, well. Even Prime's gun was grey.

Since this release doesn't include the other accessories it's less annoying, but ..... bad form, Takara.
