That was Awesome. I love SwindleTron's transform and I was expecting Windcharger to grow up into Alt Prime when he opened the Matrix. What made you decide to use Alts instead of the original two?

Dude it was great but you should try it with the designs of the upgraded version of the same guys.Use the classic and titanuim designs.

Nicely done. I'm guessing you used those two specific Alts for two reasons:

1.) They're the only ones you have.
2.) Alternators is your favorite line.

thanks for all the great comments guys n gals

a few years ago I was amazed by how the Alternators looked in both Robot and Vehicle form... I was so amazed that I just had to buy Swindle and model him up in 3D. The result was pretty cool being based on the Citroen C4 advert (you can see that on YouTube with Swindle dancing).

A few month later I decided I wanted to model another Alternator and so I bought Windcharger and made him do a quick transformation (you can also see that on YouTube).

Now that I had 2 modelled and rigged Alternators I wondered what I could do with them, and then I thought about re-enacting a scene from the Original 1986 movie. At first I thought about doing Prime Vs Megatron, but that didn't involve any transforming, so naturally it had to be Hot Rod Vs Prime.

I agree it does look a little odd not having the original Hot Rod and Galvatron, but on the other hand, we've ALL seen the original scene.. and so its nice to have a little twist on it by using Alternators instead

1) almost right. I do have a fair few of the G1 transformers which I love. But... none of them really look good in both Robot and Vehicle mode.

2) Alternators are frickin awesome in both Robot and Vehicle mode.. and so they suited my ambitious 3D animation.

I totally agree.
Alternators = KING.
Why Michael Bay didn't use something similar, if not the same models, to make his "realistic transformers" I have no idea.
