My Classics Gears - '84 Minibots now complete

Postby Massdestruction » Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:02 am

Well, I guess I'm on a roll now. First I made Classics Battletrap & Flywheels, and now here is my Classics Gears.

Gears is built using a Cybertron Hardtop. His head is off of a Movie Air Raid.

With this my '84 Classics Minibots are now complete.

A little work on painting and you'll have something. I like the blue color though, what is it?

Yeah, I still need alot of work on getting smooth painting. I guess that's one of the drawbacks of handpainting everything with brushes. Though the paint looks alot better in person, the camera flash always makes glossy paint look bad.

As for the Blue, it's Testors Dark Blue with a little bit of silver mixed in. As a comparison, the dark blue on his hands and the sides of his shoulders is the original Dark Blue straight from the bottle.

Thanks for the info. I may very well use that...

Anyhoo, I'm workin' on a bash myself and am hand painting everything.
The trick is to put on generous amounts, and smooth it out over the plastic. It creates a smooth even texture, and is stronger and less prone to chip.
