I think it would be sweet if they made a new alternators line where they took G1 characters and gave them animal alt. modes, like beast wars. WHO IS WITH ME!

I'm guessing no-one except maybe those who grew up with BW. The beast formers are not terribly popular toys (maybe because it often involves standing them upright and rearranging limbs) and the whole point of Alternators was the up-to-date and fully detailed car mode.

That was actually Beast Wars original intent: G1 characters as animals. But the fans went all "TRUK NOT MUNKY" and the like...

Adding to Mykltron's post, they were also all to scale and real, officially licensed vehicles.

I don't understand the proposed BW-like line...in other words, do you just want a line consisting of all voyager-sized BW figs? Outside of that I don't see any similarity to the Alternators line.

I think a better idea would be making a Beast Wars character as a Masterpiece figure. Of course, heaven forbid the MP line look at TF lines other than G1 or the GeeWun fanboys will have a terrible hissy fit that will ring around the globe.

I'd like to see what would happen with 1/25 scale Deluxe robot sized motorcycles... Honda Viking, Harleys, racing bikes, etc.

Won't be a bad idea, really (except the G1 characters... I'm a G1 fan, but even I grew tired of re-imagining the same characters *cough*Optimus*cough* for the trilllionth time). The point on which this line would stand or fall is the posability of the animals. The BW figures' downside was the lack of posability, which rivaled the G1 pretender shells.

It's true. Except people weren't nearly so outraged by him becoming a Nissan GT-R in Alternity for some reason... :thinking: Could be because it's a badass car.

I for one, would like to see more motorcycles. Maybe not Prime as a motorcycle, but just more motorcycles in general. I have to admit, we've been blessed with some okay ones in recent years.

I was outraged. I'm not that big of a Transformers fan, but damn it I wanted a big badass alt mode for Optimus. Instead, he became a small puny car. That first attempt at a realistic truck alt mode for Optimus in Binaltech failed miserably with a horrible robot mode, and now he's a car. When will we get a realistic truck alt mode that can transform into an awesome robot form?

I think Alternity Convoy fits into that weird mental space of "He's Optimus, but he's not Optimus", like Fire Convoy from Car Robots or that recent Leobreaker repaint in G1 colours.

Yea the movieverse OP is based on an actual Truck and is hell of an awesome transformer, so there you have it what you requested. I honestly think Alternity Convoy looks badass and I think it is a very nice choice for him.

Not to mention Masterpiece. Of course it's not exactly a scale model of a real truck, but close enough.

I actually didn't like the idea of Prime being a car all that much, so I bought the Super Black version instead.

Actually, I think Prime as a fire truck is the perfect choice for him:
-large red truck with powerful engine
-what better way to sum up Prime's self-sacrificing nobility than by associating him with firemen?

Oh yeah, Diem, you're in a better position than most of us to answer this: was his firetruck based on or similar to Japanese firetrucks?
