Shade is an Autobot loyal to the cause. He follows orders and always does his best to fit in wherever he is. Even if that means conforming to an ideal against his own personal views.

Shadow is the result of a wish from his previous form, Shatter. Even though he is a Maximal, his activities tend to suggest otherwise. He does not know anything of his past and this tends to alienate him.

Shadow (TM)'s alienation setting in a great deal after the energy wave that turned all of the non-protoform Maximals and Predacons into Transmetals, he grows even more distant from his fellow Maximals. Eventually he ends up only fighting for the cause when he has the need for vengance against the Predacons. Aside from that Shadow tends to go on his own path, typically not even residing within the Maximal's base of operations. Shadow is also the only Transmetal to have no beast form, but, instead, a modified vehicular mode which contains elements of his previous beast mode.

After Shadow (TM) is thought dead he awakens. Though not long after the blow that supposedly killed him. Shadow watches from the shadows as Optimus Primal (TM) takes on the spark of the original Oprimus Prime and becomes Optimal Optimus. An idea immediately sparking in Shadow's mind along with feeling abandoned as he is unaware of the Maximals actual thoughts, he goes off deeper into the Arc and finds the Decepticon air commander, Starscream. Shadow accesses Stacrscream's chest port and opens it, taking the great warrior's spark into himself. This pushes Shadow's body to new limits and forces him to also remember his past. Arising from the pain of the changes, Shadow stands tall and mighty. The changes have gone far beyond that of merely cosmetic and have turned him into a newly made (yet very masculine looking) female form. Shadow renames herself to Grim Shadow and heads out to reveal herself to the Maximals, declaring vengance upon them for abandoning her.
Once outside of the cave which the Arc is within, Grim Shadow seeks and finds Megatron (TM) of the Predacons. She swiftly expresses her great power (that is only rivled by Optimal Optimus) over Megatron. Though she does not overthrow him as Predacon commander. Instead she strikes a deal with him. One that is win/win for him.

After the Maximals victory over the Predacons as they begin leaving Nexus Earth, Megatron (TM2) is forcedly strapped to the hull of their escape ship with Grim Shadow tied up inside. As Megatron makes his escape from the front of the escape ship, Grim Shadow manages to make her own escape and tears through the ship. She leaves through an air lock hatch, which is quickly closed up by a secondary set of doors behind her.
As both Megatron and Grim Shadow exist the warp through time and space, Megatron swiftly turns to his ex-body gaurd and betrayer and asks her why he should allow her to continue existing. Grim Shadow falls to her knees, looking down upon the ground and says "Because I only want you to rule the universe." Megatron, still wary of Grim Shadow's words, decides to allow her to remain alive - for the moment. After all he can still use her.
After a swift victory over Cybertron and all still on it, Megatron again asks Grim Shadow why he should allow her to remain. Grim Shadow responds by asking him to rip her spark out of her and to implant it in a pure mechanical body - even if that means making her an unquestioning, loyal drone. Megatron grins with glee as he does so. And thus Jaded Shade comes into existence.

As events between the Maximals and vehicons occur, Jaded Shade remains loyal to Megatron. As he falls and Cybertron is turned to pure organic, Jaded Shade is left untouched and remains purely mechanical. Cybertron's turning and the fact the Maximals have won drives her off the deep end.
In her mechanical form, Jaded Shade has very much a definite advantage over the organic Maximals. As such she causes swift devastation to their kind, killing and maiming all and any she catches sight of. Unfortunately a space/time warp comes along and rips Jaded Shade away from her genocide of all Maximal kind.
As reality warps and shifts, Jaded Shade wonders what is happening. Eventually all of the warping ceases and Shade is left standing there, rather clueless as to what has happened.
After regaining her bearings, Shade takes a look at herself in a refelective surface. She realizes that this is a building and that she is of average Transformer size. She is on Earth. Not only that, but her form has changed. Bearing the mark of the Decepticons upon her once again, Shade feels very much empowered.
Suddenly, a group of cars comes rushing by. They all transform about her, taking aim. The cars are the 3 Autobot brothers (from RiD): Sideburn, Brawn and Prowl.
Megatron and his Predacons arrive to assist Shade. Shade looks at all going on and feels lost. But she does know one thing: These 3 robots before her are Autobots and she is a Decepticon. As such she moves her forearms out and begins firing upon the 3. Megatron and the Predacons soon join in.
Not long into the battle, Optimus Prime shows up. "Stealing Autobot tech, eh Megatron?" he qiups. Megatron just sneers at Prime and attacks him.
The battle, of course, swiftly ends and Shade returns with Megatron and the Predacons back to their base of operations. After some discussion about what has happened - receiving details from Megatron himself - Shade takes the name "Blood Shade" and joins him in the battle between him, his Predacons and the Autobots of this Earth.
