I've had the Final Edition MP Prime on preorder for well... close to 4 months I'd say. Sometime in November.
Original interest in him was that he was a G1 Prime, which I had none at all. I mostly have movie stuff because that's what brought me back, but I've wanted a G1 styled Prime again for years. And I also wanted a Takara MP. So I thought this would be great. But since then I acquired a PP01 Faith Leader, who looks fantastic. It's just a shame you can't transform him without breaking him in some fashion or another. First the leg broke off (major credit to IGear though for sending not just a replacement joint, but the entire lower torso), then the little flap that extends his wrist broke off. After that I posed him and have not touched him since. He'll likely stay that way forever.
So it's a shame to not have a durable version of this to transform. Hence the MPL-01. But really, is it worth the money to have something gigantic that won't look right with anything else? Is the mold really that good? Should I just go ahead and get him just because it's likely to be the last time he's released?
Talk me into it please.
PS, currently my favorite transformer of them all is Buster Prime, who I have absolutely no regrets over.
Need help deciding about MPL-01 Prime..

I own the MP-04 Convoy with Trailer
I'm a little biased, but I'd say the MP-04 is the one to get, but you'd have to either pray for a rerelease or find one on ebay for a reasonable price.
To me, the Masterpiece edition Optimus is THE MOST IMPORTANT FIGURE THAT YOU WILL EVER OWN. Everything about screams awesome. It combines aspects of the hero that we saw on Saturday morning cartoons with elements of modern engineering and artistry. It is superb in every aspect with the various pistons and other goodies that work together in perfect harmony to create the Prime that the fandom has always wanted.
Now I will agree that the Buster Prime figure is cool. I have teh regular ROTF figure and he's one of my favorites, but when it comes to my favorite, it would have to be the MP. He has all the elements of nostalgia and modern reenvioning that you could ask for.
Also, in terms of stability, he is the best of the MP line. He's durable and you won't take a risk in breaking him the moment you decide to transform him. He was made to be a articulated and not break.
Maybe now, he'd seem awkward in your collection, but as your collection grows and expands, you'll see that he's a good fit.

The same tab broke on my Faith Leader as well.
Also, yes MP Prime is that good and deserves to be in everybody's collection.

Weapon: tea cup."
When I got him, a few years back, I thought he was the most awesome thing ever but there are drawbacks - the ratchet point on shoulders, knees and hips are too far apart and I often want to pose him with a joint mid-way between two stops. Also, he's so heavy you really won't be happy if he falls over while you're posing him! He's interesting to transform and a great showpiece but it really depends on how much you're paying.

If not MP-04, then get this one. MP Prime is a must own figure.

Get MP Prime. If you are a fan of Transformers, he needs to be in your collection.
