I am watching two auctions from the same seller:

I am suspicious that they are KOs, because the seller has no other TFs in his selling history, and I think the two figures were knocked off around the same time (quick google search).

However, one bidder asks if Shockwave has Made in Korea and Toyco on him, which the seller says it does. I went and checked my Shockwave (which I am reasonable sure is not a KO, and it says Made in Korea, Toyco 1983. Also, the Reflector is dusty and looks to have a little playwear.

So I have two questions:

1. Why did the bidder ask that question about Shockwave? What does it mean? (i.e. is MY Shockwave original?)

2. Is the Reflector original or a repro?

Obviously, without being able to physically examine the toys themselves its impossible to give a 100% definitive answer. However from what I can see from the photos both items look like genuine, original Hasbro products.

Shockwave was originally produce by ToyCo in Korea and is not an original Diaclone/Microman/Takara design. It was originally released independently by ToyCo but was later integrated into the TF universe and produced under license. To this end even a original 'Hasbro' Shockwave would still be stamped ToyCo, Korea.

The shockwave on the pictures are authentic it has its black screws the KO has screws that is chrome/silver. But it still dont mean much for the picture can be of an original but a KO is send to you.

That's exactly what happened to me. The person that sold it to me, in fact used genuine pictures from the galleries on this cite. I even emailed him and he was adamant it was a genuine Has/Tak TF. You can probably imagine my disgust when a poopy KO version arrived in the post. I was seriously pissed off!
