I need to know if I should try buying theese figs or if I still have a shot at finding them in stores. The figs I am wondering about are as follows
War path
wheel jack
thunder cracker
wrec gar
iron hide
ratchet
perceptor
shock wave
I know that there are a few different "styles" for each fig I have mentioned. I am looking for generations and rts figures as I am only interested in the modernized versions of the old bots. Please help me so that I dont have to spend loads of cash needlessly. For some reason the only store I can find that stock rts are wal greens and rite aid. (WAL GREENS WANTS NEARLY TWENTY BUCKS FOR THEIR RTS FIGS!!!) Most wal marts tru and targets are drowning in the new movie figs with a few generations figs here and there. I had heard (although not from the most reliable source) that hasbro will be haulting the gen and rts lines while they focus on the movie figs and that it could be a full six months before they resume production of any other transformer figures. I hope this is not true. Can anyone confirm/debunk this for me? Thanks so much for your time. Oh yeah! I live in lou ky if that helps.

War path: (Warpath) Must have. If you are lucky, you can find it in Walmart. Or ask around here see if people can help you. Or, BBTS.
wheel jack: (Wheeljack) Must have. Same as above.
thunder cracker: (Thundercracker) Why not! Same like above. Maybe you should just get the whole set from BBTS if they are still available. Cheaper than buying them individually. That's how I got those three.
wrec gar: (Wreck-Gar) Kind of depends on your preference. I like the figure personally. See other thread about Ross and Marshall since he has been sighted there.
iron hide: Which one? DOTM? ROTF? Movie 1? Classics? G1? Not-Ironhide? Please be specific.
ratchet: Same as Ironhide above.
perceptor: Same as Wreck-Gar.
shock wave: Again, which one? If DOTM one, he is really nice and you can find him at retails.

Buy Thundercracker, feel bummed for not having the other seekers. Once you pop, you can't stop.

Warpath (currently being seen in various areas at retail. Ordering over the internet is your only sure fire way to get this guy.)
Wheeljack (same as Warpath.)
Thundercracker (same as the two above.)
Wreck-Gar (Currently available at Marshalls for the closeout price of $6.99)
Ironhide (eBay or a willing collector are your best bets to get this guy. He can fetch a pretty penny.)
Ratchet (same as Ironhide, but for some reason, he tends to be a tad more pricy.)
Perceptor (Also available at Marshalls)
Shockwave (I'm assuming you mean the DOTM figure that's currently available? He's a bit tricky. If your store stocked him when they got their cases in, you were lucky. If they didn't, they most likely won't for a while. Wave 1's and some Wave 2's are clogging shelves and pegs like crazy. If you keep looking around, you might find him at retail, if not, you'll have to buy him over the internet. There's not much else you can do at this point.)

There's Hunt For The Decepticons, Generations and Reveal The Shield for us Hasbro customers, and United for the TakaraTomy area. United is just slightly better painted figures that are the exact same figure, exact same mold for a lot more money. Usually 3-4 times more expensive. Those are the modernized versions you're talking about. I realize the labels can be confusing, but you already had the right stuff. You want the Hasbro product if you want to save money.

That's the problem. The stores are dictating what they want and Hasbro complies. There is hope, however. TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Ross (they're all interconnected somehow. I believe the same conglomerate....) They're releasing the tail end figures of the Reveal The Shield line right now. Legends through Human Alliance. Try those, but I hate to say it, if you want the figures, you might just have to pony up that $20.00 We all do at some point. If you don't, then you're going to miss out. That's the price you pay to play. Sad, but true.
Oh, and Kohls. They have RTS figures as well.

Your source is incorrect. Generations will be running along side DOTM, and at full speed. Reveal The Shield was a filler subline to help pad their offerings until DOTM came along. RTS is not returning and has been canceled/completed. Generations has not, and will continue. Hasbro confirmed this before and during Botcon. In fact, Hasbro is busy getting TransFormers Prime figures ready for sale. First Editions (we still don't know what that label is about) are packed up and ready to go. They consist of the following:
Deluxe Class:
Arcee
Bumblebee
Starscream
2-Pack:
Megatron
Optimus Prime
(Both are Deluxe Class for the set, with Voyager coming shortly after.)
This set also comes with the human figures.
So, we'll have DOTM, Generations and Prime all running at the same time. Not to mention the Rescue Bots line (aimed at kids)
Oh, and as for your location... Louisville is a rather large city, I'm surprised you've had this much trouble in finding some of those figures on your list. Especially Shockwave and Wreck-Gar.

Thamk you guys for all your info. Thank you Autobot032 for taking the time to type me such an elaborate response. All questions were answered. I was talking about the classics/generations iron hide and ratchet. I still dont know which shockwave to roll with tho. I know that I dont want the new movie version.Actually he looks kind of close to the original except he is not to scale with my other figs. Anyone got any opinions on which shockwave I should look to get? Keep in mind Im trying to get thebest mix of original look with a modernized revamp. Thank you for your time.

Shockwave? Then you want Energon Shockblast. He's your best bet.
He works with Mini-Cons, he has sound effects, fires a missile and he's a triple changer.
The only catch is his gun arm. No posability, whatsoever.

Add to this his waist. What a nightmare. Due to his huge arm he's heavy up front, and the connector there sits in front. My Shockblast was always 'hanging' forward thanks to this design flaw. Otherwise he could have been awesome.
