Oh FFS ... for starters, it's been 2 years. It's no longer "New" DC.

Secondly ... there was nothing wrong with Lobo. Especially when drawn by Rob Liefeld. (Yeah I went there, deal with it!)

Perhaps it's because I'm not a Lobo fan(I don't dislike the character, I'm just not a diehard fan) but I like this new character design.

The normally musclebound Lobo is a product of the 80s and 90s trends of North Americon superhero comic books. I think it's natural to see a different looking design in today's superhero comic book climate where sleek and slim is more common and popular.

The artwork for the new slimmer Lobo has a very late 90s/early 2000s Image vibe to it. It reminds me of Marc Silvestri's style, especially on The Darkness.

The one thing I'm not sure of is the way that this new Lobo is "sexier". One thing about Lobo that I liked is his uncouthness and that definitely was enhanced by his burly space biker look. So I can see how Lobo fans would not be so positive about this new incarnation of the character.

I've only read one issue of Lobo from the 90's, courtesy of a friend, so I don't know enough about the character to make any concrete opinions.

But from what I have read, first couple of pics with the younger clean-shaven Lobo is just too different. He looks more like something out of a Final Fantasy game than the badass interstellar bounty hunter that he is. He also looks too "serious" for the tone of the comic I read, which was more of a satire of anti-heroes than anything else...unless they're actually going for a more sombre approach to the character this time around.

The last one at the bottom looks more like the Lobo I know.

He doesn't have to be muscle-bound per se, but more "biker-like" and roguish. Basically, someone you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, or anywhere else, for that matter.

Some facial hair wouldn't hurt, either.

They're not really changing the look of the character though, they just decided that the Lobo we all know, isn't Lobo. We haven't met the real Lobo until now.

So old Lobo will still have the same look, he just can't be Lobo.

It's a crappy reason to give a new look to an existing character.

Wow, that's just crazy. If they're going to gut the character and render him completely different except in name, why not just make him an original character instead--maybe Lobo's nicer, tamer, sexier cousin from Final Fantasy?

Call him Yolo while they're at it.

Keep the badass, walking Liefeld Parody, but make this one Lobo 2: Son of Lobo. Lobo's long-lost son, a walking parody of current trends in comics, which I'm assuming is what Lobo-INO is meant to do. That way, you don't have to completely **** up a perfectly good character, but you still get to use this new one to parody modern comics. Having your cake and eating it to.

Wow, I can see this pissing off staunch fans of the "original" Lobo.

On the other hand, I think it's an interesting way to shake things up.

If you think that's bad, wait until you see who's doing the art for Hawk and Dove.

DC really should know better by now...

Hawk and Dove was cancelled ages ago.

Liefeld's not even with DC any more.
