Okay, so, here's the deal.
I am applying for Thunderwing as an NPC for a
very limited amount of time. I figured later it may be easier if we had someone playing him.
Don't get used to it, I am
really not a fan of the character.
I had to redo his profile because... Oh the liberties that were taken with previously posted profile were a whole world of 'WTF?' so I corrected his stats, weapons, and rank to be more accurate with the toy's bio and made his profile readable (it was not readable before. I have a long attention span and even my mind wandered off to more exciting things like watching paint dry).
So rank lowered to 6 from 8, other stats lowered and/or specified with modification from the shell (except for speed, I had to put it above toy specs because he is interstellar capable), long winded, rambling, disjointed history streamlined and condensed, ditched half his weapons as it seemed excessive, even for for Thunderwing. Fixed his function to an actual function rather than rank, fixed alt mode. Not going to make a habit playing him if approved. Really, really wouldn't make a habit of him (really. Like only when needed. Really).

Profile: Pompously overconfident and absolutely ruthless, Thunderwing is a model Decepticon. Surprisingly charming with a seemingly genuine concern for the welfare of other Decepticons makes Thunderwing and ideal leader. With an unrelenting obsession when he gets fixated on something makes Thunderwing a liability.
He tends to most often show his confident, charming side to those around… purposefully. Call him two-faced, but Thunderwing cultivates the image he shows to the universe very carefully.
Chances are, in the end, he's just telling you what you want to hear. He is not the most honest Decepticon and more likely to lie to achieve his objectives all the while convincing others he's got their best interests in mind. He doesn't. Only his own interests. He works very hard not to show his true motives.
His concern for others can sometimes be genuine. He does understand there would be no Decepticons if they all felt they felt neglected.
He is an excellent Intel gatherer, able to travel interplanetary and keep high altitudes/atmospheric flight. He has a natural attention to detail that helps him in both aspects of his life.
Scientifically inclined, Thunderwing is adept in modification of the Cybertronian. The Decepticons have given him ample freedom to perfect his craft without too much interruption. However, he is known to cross the line, even as far as Decepticons are concerned, in his experimentation. Leading him to be more secretive in his activities.
The culmination, thus far, of his work has led him to develop the ultimate armor. An exoskeleton, usually referred to as a shell, giving him an edge both in damage taking and dealing.
His shell allows him to take large amounts of damage; as well as enhancing his weaponry and added additional weapons to his arsenal.
It does give him a certain sense of security and helps further boost his confidence as it adds considerably to his armor.
His charm, intellect, and shell has moved him into a well respected position in the Decepticon army. Coupled with his lack of scruples when it comes to modification of his fellow Decepticons, he is the mech sought out for upgrades.
Abilities: Thunderwing isn't on Shockwave's level of scientist, but with a higher than average intellect and technical skills, he is well skilled in his area of study. Upgrading and modifying armor and equipment is what he does best. He most enjoys research and working directly on his subjects.
He really excels in espionage. With low-light and thermal imaging cameras in his alt mode, he can see through adverse conditions. He also posses high power zoom lens, allowing him to keep a high altitude to avoid detection.
Of course he is no slouch when it comes to combat. He is well armed, his shell boosting the power of his cyclone cannon, as well as granting.him other weapons (gas emitters and shoulder mounted electrostatic guns, and a not often used corrosive laser… not often used because of the power it requires). And in alt mode he has a large supply of plasma charges.
The Shell's corrosive laser can penetrate most metals/armors with ease.
Hand to hand combat proves him to be well versed as well. The shell adding to his already formidable strength. Though he does eschew bladed weapons.
The shell also has some extra fuel tanks, allowing him to remain in the shell for longer periods and power the extra weapons.
When in his alt mode, the shell can modify itself to fit around his jet form as well, providing him the same level of armor as in robot mode (without use of the extra weapons though)
Weaknesses: Thunderwing's overconfidence can be a major weakness. He will often overestimate his own ability, thinking he's invulnerable in his shell, though he is not completely impervious. This belief that he is invulnerable leads him to rarely leave the shell.
The shell, and especially it's weaponry, do require him to use more energon than most other mechs. He has extra fuel takes, but needs a bigger ration of fuel with the shell than without.
The corrosive laser takes
a lot of power to use, causing him to rarely use it unless absolutely needed and under the right circumstances.
Once he has his mind set on something he becomes irrational and obsessive. Whether desiring to possess something or do something, it all results in the same relentless determination to obtain/finish his work. Sometimes even leading to a blind rage, lashing out violently as if a mech possessed.
