Seibertron.com is proud to present it's latest addition to our extensive galleries: Hasbro's Hunt for the Decepticons BATTLE HOOKS OPTIMUS PRIME. This 140 image gallery highlights all the updated features of this repaint of leader class ROTF Optimus Prime including the duel, snap out battle hooks which replace the swords from the original figure, a retooled head like that of Takara's Buster Optimus Prime release but with the addition of battle damage, and battle damaged paint apps.

The HFTD Leader Class STARSCREAM gallery that was posted last November 2009 also received an update along with Battle Hooks Optimus Prime. I picked one up to make some real battle damage. It feels weird to intentionally damage such a great, expensive TF, but it's kinda fun. *finds pliers and blowtorch, gets medieval on OP*

It's not called "Battle Hooks Optimus Prime" it's just "Optimus Prime". "Battle Hooks" was a fan-coined name based on the name of his hook weapons. It's not the figure's official name.

They sure bring back memories of that awesome scene where Optimus whipped out his gold plastic hinged batons to beat up on Starscream "Kick-Ass" style for spraypainting half his face black!

What is the official name? HFTD OP rather than RoTF OP? Either way, would it be better if we called this figure "Burned Face Prime"...even though it is not canon?

Since we're talking official names, it's plain "Optimus Prime". Early listings had the name "Forest Battle Optimus Prime" if I remember correctly. The Voyager is still called "Battle Blade Optimus Prime".

by the by, Seibs, it's worth mentioning that the Japanese Voyager has the hooks instead of the blades (despite retaining the "blade" in the name), since TakaraTomy isn't gonna release the Leader. Any luck on tracking him down for a gallery?
