Oh, I know...

It’s not that. The issue is that while its ok for you (and others, not the specific ‘you’ here) to complain and complain about the price/availability, it’s not cool for the rest of us (who are either working hard, or have saved up, knowing this would happen), to say “Too bad. Sorry you can’t swing this one, but I worked hard to get these. Now stop spoiling everyone’s good time and stop acting like anyone owes you a gotdamn thing.”
I really do sympathize with those that live over seas, aren’t in a position to buy the toys due to finances, or simply aren’t in a place in their lives where it’s even an option.
But those folks that only bitch because they aren’t getting what they want.
No sympathy.
The whole stupid issue has been danced around for like 2 months now.
BotCon sold out this year due to popular exclusives.
Time to start saving for next year.
I'm afraid to mess with you, you seem to have some pretty devote followers here. But if you read what I said, it's not the price. I had the money to buy it, I didn't out of principle. Now I don't have any problem with botcon exclusives, they've been doing it for years. But they used to make their own characters or made characters that used a name but didn't resemble the originals. Things have changed here, last year they did the beast wars set. I grew up with beast wars way more than g1, but I didn't have a problem. I knew Hasbro had absolutely no chance of putting all those figures at retail, and it was just cool to see what they'd look like. I didn't shell out for them but I didn't mind that they made them exclusives either. Heck even this years rodimus prime is a cool exclusive. People will probably have a better chance of finding it since it'll be in one place and they know where it is, unlike the dodgy alternators releases at retail. Plus it's not a perfect rodimus prime like the awesome titanium one we got, but it still looks amazing. The price isn't that bad either.
This set however is something that should have been done at retail (minus bugbite and dreadwing). And don't give me bs that hasbro wouldn't have done them, they're reissuing ENERGON molds in a MOVIE line. I understand after a while you'd probably get really sick of people bitching, but seeing these images really set me off and I was pissed. And usually I don't visit this site often.
All I can say is, if you want to know how I feel, buy the set at Botcon prices. Then (and hopefully this will happen just so the shoe will be on the other foot) Hasbro releases these figures at retail for $10 each. You'd feel cheated, and angry, like you wasted all this money for nothing. That's exactly how we feel right now.
AND LIKE I SAID BEFORE, I could've bought the set. I was on the verge of doing it until I realised what was happening and passed. I wish everyone would have passed just to send a message, but I know there are people way more hardcore than me that just wouldn't be able to hold themselves from completing the set. The set selling out only proves that Hasbro started a line, and the only way to complete that line (of seekers anyway) was to get the exclusives. That hasn't been the case at ANY other botcon regarding exclusives.
Oh and btw, I never said it wasn't cool for people to like the set. I pretty much ripped on Hasbro for making it exclusive, and called that guy who pretty much attacked me to shove off because he obviously has issues. But that guy who lives in Oklahoma made some pretty good points, and I called him on it. I'm willing to listen, but so far no one has swayed my opinion that this was pretty much douchebaggery at its finest.
