Maybe it's just the lighting of the pix, but the colors are too vibrant on the 2-packs, except maybe for Steelshot, but I'm getting Bombshock, so we'll see.

Definitely an epic win in my books! So what if they're redecos? The entire Transformers series is full of redecos! Definitely would like to obtain each and every one of these PCCs!

And in case you missed it, I really like combiners!

No no. There are plenty more who do like them, they're just not vocal about it. Besides, it doesn't matter, as long as you like them, that's the important part.

I would like them far more if the limbs would actually look LIKE limbs. They've got a good head start on the transformation, now all they have to do is give them real hands real feet, and real weapons.

They could easily make G1 themed or homage sets that open into limbs with real hands, real feet, and arm mounted guns that look like they actually are useful.

Instead, we ended up with that Aerialbot abomination that looks like a bunch of vehicle parts slapped together.

Just a little bit of work on these would go a long way to ensuring I'd buy into them. And it's not impossible for Hasbro to do it. They obviously have chosen not to. (And I say obviously because the next few figures are redecos and only one or two new molds.)

The 'problem' with hands is they need to not be backwards when you swap the arms, i.e. they'd need two thumbs, unless we want partsformers. Feet wouldn't have to worry about this problem if they go for a boot look, or just don't have toes of different sizes.

Granted I for one wouldn't mind double-thumbs. Heck, I think the claws work nice for some of them, especially Bombshock.

Okay, I posted yesterday and it got eated.

I like this line. The Destron 5 pack will be a buy for me, for it will save me the trouble of painting Huffer. I alsolike how he got the two arm drones that have gotten the best response. The protectobot Smolder looks good, too. Using the same blue as the connectors really helps them blend.

Repaints upon repaints? Pass.

Seeing official images of wave 3 PCCs is making me want to buy wave 2 PCCs even more than ever! But now I'm itching to obtain wave 3 even more than ever as well! The redecos give the commanders/minicons/drones a distinctive Autobot/Decepticon/Same-side-different-colouring look and feel to them. The repaints of Chopper Drone and Jet Fighter Drone as Protectobots were what caught my eye the most! "Hey Chopper!" "Yeah Jet Fighter?" "That red drone looks just like you!" "And that blue-and-yellow jet looks just like you!" "And their commander looks just like..." "SMOLDER!" "Quick, Chopper! Attack the Decepticon and the traitorous clone-drones! Protect the humans!""But I'm not Smolder! I'm-"But it was too late...because PrimeGestalt rescued and paid for the Protectobots and the rest of the third wave of PCCs.

Please bring them out soon Hasbro!

You kidding? Look at Resolute. Once the 7-packs are released there will be a total of 22 figures. 3 of these are the same Cobra Commander repaints, 3 are Cobra Trooper repaints, Snake Eyes is the third release of the same figure. The 7-pack Duke, Flint, Beach Head and Roadblock are all repaints with new head sculps. And the BAT is one of many repaints.

Hasbro makes better returns for every time a mold is reused, doesn't matter if it's TF's, Joes, Star Wars or any other product line. While it's disappointing to see PCC repaints so soon, they have been more than expected.

I think I've worked it out! If wave 3 is redecos and wave 4 is (assumed) new designs, then it must alternate between redecos and new designs. My guess is that wave 5 will have the long-awaited arrival of a Power Core Combiners Stunticon team, featuring a redeco of Leadfoot as a Decepticon, as well as two Rallybot drone redecos and two Destructicon drone redecos, as well as an original-named Power Core team featuring a redeco of Icepick as an Autobot, with the other Rallybot and Destructicon drones redecoed to suit him/her. Then, possibly as wave 6, we could see more animal-themed drones in the form of a team of Predacons (a homage to Predaking and/or Tripredacus), as well as a team of 'Maximals' (a possible homage to Magnaboss). 50,000 energon cubes to me if I'm right, and 10,000 energon cubes if I'm only partly right (I'm absolutely convinced about the Stunticon Power Core team)!

Actually, the Destrons are the Stunticons. Never noticed how Huffer's Combiner head is similar to G1 Menasor's?

And you are right: The Dinobots and Constructicons are new designs. What wave 4 will bring? Probably mix-and-match again.

I know that Crankcase's Power Core team originally showed-up in store computers as 'Stunticons' (which could be a simple mistake because the other team is the 'Protectobots'), and that they were renamed 'Destrons', possibly because they don't resemble stunt vehicles, and so Hasbro might be thinking that a redeco set consisting of Leadfoot with four stuntish drone redecos as more apt Stunticons would be a better homage to Menasor. Then again, 'Menasor' does seem like a very 'destructive' name!

By the way, if my grammar sucks and my G1 information is inaccurate in this post it's because it's past midnight over here and I'm about to go to bed...yawn...

Yes and no. At the Hasbro Panel they said the the Destrons is the set titled the Stunticons that was found in Wal-mart computers, but they were looking to better homage the team at a later date. So I'm calling these guys Stunticons-lite

In all seriousness though, I actually like redecos because they are distinctive from the character they resemble (I remember when I first saw Beast Wars Grimlock and Lazorbeak on the back of my Spittor, himself a redeco of/redecoed as Beast Wars Second's Diver), and since all the commanders are redecoed with colours of the faction they oppose they just don't look the same! I mean Steelshot (Bombshock's redeco) looks golden as a ray of sun, whereas Darkstream (Skyburst's redeco) looks like a homage of G1 Starscream, with his red-and-silver colour scheme, and coupled with the dark blue Razorbeam it's eerily familiar (that's the vibe I get anyway). As for Stakeout his colour scheme is completely inverted from Smolder's, making him look like a beam of cleansing white light. And Crankcase...need I say more? The one Mini-Con Commander that is still without a Power Core team, Windburn, has a very Decepticon-y name (as does Darkray, his Mini-Con), and the colour scheme matches his faction well, despite the parts that look magenta (but could just be the way the red is shaded in the image). Plus it's easy to create good/evil versions of each wave 1 character and have them stand side-by-side. Those who wondered what an evil homage of Superion would look like, catch the third wave! I actually think that wave 3 could be one of my most sought-after right now!

Those Destrons are looking all kinds of epic. Kudos to Hasbro for using the name too; is this the first instance of the term 'destron' appearing in the west?.

Plus, no way am I missing out on that 'Nemesis Swindle' drone!

I also have to agree about the whole Starscream similarity in Darkstream. I mean, heck, say it to yourself- "STAR-SCREAM, DARK-STREAM." Mhmm. I'm picking up on that too.
But I think out of these new repaints and mix-and-matches, I definitely like Darkstream and like everyone else that's liking the PCC's, the Destron set is uber sexy. The combiner head on Huffer just seemed out of place to me and this makes better sense to have it be Menasor's head (whether or not Hasbro wants to acknowledge that). I'm really curious to see how the Dinobots group turns out!

Thank goodness. Let's just hope it's all cars though. I'm all for messing around with things to a certain extent, but only the black Huffer(Crankcase?) screams Stunticons. I have no interest in that. The Protectobots fare slighlty better, but as has been said, most of the limbs make little if any sense.

Oh, and Windburn? Really Hasbro, really? You repaint in that color scheme? Hopefully he gets one more Decepticon repaint, and they get it right:

Wow, you know what's crazy about the Destron 5-pack?

Those are the exact figures I wanted to buy to make an Ironfist/Wreckers homage/Kitbash. I would give the combined mode the head of Pyro while The truck drone is in Pyro's colors, the helicopter drone Rotorstorm's, and the rest as Top Spin and Twin Twist. Meanwhile the Scout would be Ironfist in Robot mode and tank mode.

Thank you Hasbro, you saved me a lot of money.

I'm sure there'll be more repaints coming, and here are some I expect to see from the currently-known-to-the-general-public combiner teams:

AUTOBOTS
Buildbots (Based on Landfill from Robots in Disguise, a 'good' Constructicon team with a repainted Sledge as the Commander)

DECEPTICONS
Stunticons (Based on Menasor from G1, an 'evil' Rallybot team with a repainted Leadfoot as the Commander)

And here are some that I think would make great teams:

AUTOBOTS
Technobots (Based on Computron from G1)
Maximals (Based on Magnaboss from Beast Wars, but featuring robotic animals instead of organic ones)
Omnibots (a new Power Core team whose unique ability is being able to handle and process any form of raw energy without taking damage)

DECEPTICONS
Terrorcons (Based on Abominus from G1)
Predacons (Based on both Predaking from G1 and Tripredacus from Beast Wars, with robotic animals like the former)
Insecticons (Based on Insectrain from G1, though combining into a robot rather than a train)

I would most definitely pick-up each of those Power Core teams for sure!
