New Images of Transformers Animated Starscream
Bleh, skinny, bad proportions, don't like the colours.
Why were all the classics repaints convention exclusives again?
Seriously?

Overall I'm very impresed with the animated designs so far, but I think this is probably the weakest. He's just not imposing at all and those legs look like they'll collapse far too easily.

I'm just not into these figures either. When they finally roll out on the shelves i most likely won't be buying any of them. Guess it'll give my wallet a break ehh?

Whoever mentioned the resemblance to Macross Plus: Good freakin' call! Screamer definitely has that kind of look, especially the alt mode. As it is, I'm really liking the Animated toys shown so far. I'm waiting for the first snuck out prototype of Prowl to hit though before I start making a 'buy list'. Gotta see how the ninjabot comes out.

Jesus Christ what have they done to him?! Man, I'm so staying away from this line. I mean come on, he almost look like the joker in Batman with that face... Never have the Transformers looked so wrong before. And for all of you who complained about Movie Starscream looking fat in Alt mode, here's a double CheeseBurger for ya! The show might indeed change my mind on him and in the end, I might buy it. But I doubt it. The color is also a problem.

SS looks a bit like the Macross YF-19 in jet mode...

You know what I always wonder?
Whenever a company hits on a formula that works and makes them popular, they run with it, work it to death.
It always seemed to me, that right since the beginning Hasbro has been doing the oppoosite. Series 1 and 2 of G1 are what made TFs hit big first time around. Yet, since series 3, they have been trying to change TFs especially the way they look.
I'll give you that the lack of articulation of G1 would not fly today. However, the realistic alt modes and especially the head molds from G1 were, imo, far superior to what we have seen since then.
And it only gets worse. It is unfortunate. Might as well slap some masks and capes on the the TFs while they're at it.
Like Fury, I really hope the show wins me over. If not, well, money saved!

The Jet mode is the best part. The head sucks and the robot mode looks a little to cartoony. But compared to prime he looks good. Ill have to see it in person to say if ill buy it or not.
Current TF count: 2042

Save the flesh-color added to his lips and the Thundercracker
app, I love it. This'll probably be the first line I collect
MISB, not because they're heinous, but because They look really
good. Of course, packaging shots will determine the final verdict.

I haven't bothered reading much of this thread however I really like the TFA designs, IMO they capture the essance of Transformers a damn sight better then the movie designs did. I know they are kidsy and I'm not too hot on Starscreams lipstick but that aside they look like cartoon Transforming robots with lots of character and that's what Transformers are to me, not 1 dimentional characterless fighting plies of trash.

Thanks for that link. I'm amazingly curious to see how some of these transform. Prowl looks pretty seemless in alt mode, it'll be interesting to see how they all turn out.
Here's my bigger question: considering how much of part it looks like the humans are going to play in this series ( ie: Autobots facing supervillains inbetween facing Decepticons ) are we gonna get scaled human figures as well? Are those movie Deluxe scene packs perhaps a test run for animated Deluxe theme packs?

Ooooo! While I'm still reeling from all of the changes to my beloved Seeker, I'm still going to get two of them when he comes out. One to display and one to keep minty in MISB. I wasn't sure about this line before, but I kind of like it now. Yes, it is very different, but personally I don't mind. You have to expect change in a toyline if you want it to keep going. Although I love the fact that they keep putting G1 types out at the same time!

Judging from what we've seen of the cartoon so far this couldn't be his final colour scheme, I hope. In previous shots I've seen of this figure, although still blue, it had no faction insignia and the lips were black. That all remains to be seen though right?
Anyhow, just give me another Skywarp toy for my collection please.

Cant see the Robot-mode pic!
Btw, i kinda hope that he'll be Blue ... That will make some diffrence in front of the other series.

I think he looks terrific. He's surprisingly show-accurate, and he looks to have good articulation. I'm with those who see the backwards wings as the only flaw. Some people might not like the Cartoon Network design aesthetic, but I think we have quite good uses of that aesthetic with the designs in question. With the movie toys, I only wanted the five Autobots. With these, I might want most of the line.

Sure, screamer needs a paper bag ...
With that said, they're going for a different look with the ani. line and have accomplished that. I'm quite excited!
They could've just had a whole bunch of different characters, but they blessed us with the familiar personalities we are used to. I'm sure many of those who don't like these toys ... will grow to appreciate the animated line for what it is.
Just remember, it's different and temporary. Sooner or later all of us will enjoy something that Hasbro puts out. They can't please everybody.
Go ahead and sit on the sideline, that's more toys/availability for the rest of us!

No offense, but maybe you are in the wrong hobby?
If you seem to dislike a majority of the franchise I think something is wrong.
ALso I think those are teeth not lips on starscream,
or maybe it's just a wonky picture.
