Yeah, if you teach Gastly some new moves it'll be better. When it evolves into Gengar it's one of the best mixed sweepers in the game. Gengar has amazing speed and attack stats.

There's no real right or wrong choice when it comes to choosing Pokemon though. Just go with whatever you like best. The only time you want to worry about which is better is if you decide to do some competitive battling.

But since the Physical/Special split I could never decide on a Physical or Special moveset... So I just compromised by having two Kingdra. XP

Apparently Platinum (all Pokemon?) doesn't work with WPA2 encryption? I went to get my friend code last night (after tossing Ghastly back in) and couldn't get on the network. I remember reading that you need to have WEP for pokemon - can anyone confirm that?

Either way it was late and I wasn't going to fight with the internet so I just went to bed. But it looks like I'll need to address this eventually since you need to trade Ghastly's 2nd form to get him to evolve to his 3rd....

It's true. All the DS Pokemon games don't support WPA encryption. It's frustrating. I'm hopeful that the Generation 5 games will change that.

But for now, no encryption or WEP will work.

The new game names and logos have been revealed by the official website. So exciting!

Seriously, as much as I love Lance, Ice Beam will rape his entire team.

Thunderbolt for Gyarados, Ice Beam for everything else. The only thing you need worry about then is Charizard, which isn't that big of a threat. Any rock type move will destroy it.

Yeah my Blastoise with Ice Beam nuked his 3 Dragonites...

....and I really feel like importing my EV'd team from Diamond just to nuke Red's team once I get there..... oh the urge.

Thanks a lot for the offer pal, but the problem is not the lack of a Dragon Scale but the lack of a second DS or someone to trade...And since I don't have a WiFi adapter I can't connect my DS to the internet and GTS...

Isn't Thunderbolt 2x effective against Charizard? I think that no Rock move is needed to easily defeat Lance...

It's not needed, but it's 4x effective, which is pretty much a guaranteed OHKO.

You could say the same about Gyarados or any of the other dragons. If you were to only bring a rock move to deal with Charizard, you wouldn't need an electric move or an ice move because Gyarados and the dragons are 2x damaged by rock. But together, Ice, Electric, and Rock are all 4x effective against his team.

And of course, since you can have 24 moves spread across six monsters, why not carry all three?

I prefer to have 3 pkmn with moves for almost any occasion that a fully "equiped" 6-pkmn team...But, this is a matter of choice i guess...

By the way, why don't you check serebii.net for the first images of B/W?
The graphics look quite improved I think...

I was thinking that they haven't changed all that much. They've just changed the camera angle.

But this change of the camera angle makes an illusion of depth and a pseudo-3D world IMO...
I like it!

I'm not too sure. I liked the top-down approach, which thankfully still seems to be there, just not in every location.

What I really like however, is the full body back sprites and the larger field sprites.

What I DON'T like, is the absence of a Pokemon following the player on the field. That was my favourite feature of HGSS, I'll be really sad if it doesn't come back.

I would prefer this to be optional...

Also, the male character sprite looks a bit dorky. Even more than Lucas and Red do. Sigh. =(

I miss the Brendan sprite... It was my favourite.

I didn't like Brendan at all...My favorite is Ethan.I also like Platinum Lucas,he looks a bit sophisticated IMO...
