I think a lot about getting a new Sky Lynx mold, but it never seems to happen... anybody have any ideas why? Think we ever will?

In a world of 2-foot Metroplexes and Headmaster Brainstorms, I think they simply haven't gotten around to Sky Lynx yet. There are a lot of bots to cover, after all...

Honestly, I would not mind a new Sky Lynx. Maybe his animal modes are what is keeping a new toy off. No sign of that Trypticon, either.

Skylynx would be great. I've been wanting an update for years but i think the only way it would get done the way i would like to see him done is via 3rd party design.

Seriously.....Hasbros last Skylynx was a beast hunters figure and it was a Predacon. :roll:

Topic at hand? A new Sky Lynx would be great, but he'd have to be pretty large. Would they go the separate beast routes, or a triple changer like the Marvel comics? Cause a proper new Sky Lynx should not have a robot mode.

Or...just repaint Hatchet?

Hear me out. Yes, it's not exactly a lynx...is it? And it's not a space shuttle. However, it's a quadraped, it has a flying alt. mode, the tail reminds me of Sky Lynx's tail, and in the right colors it wouldn't be a horrible bottom half Sky Lynx homage.

Hmm...two pack with DOTM Laserbeak homaging the top half?

We also got an encore figure not too long Ago.

But if you mean a Generations SkyLinx, I'm surprised Hasbro hasn't repainted Generations Blitzwing into Sky Lynx. 2 Modes (Air and Ground), I'm sure they could probably retool him to make them a Lion/Cougar and a Bird instead of a Tank and a Jet.

It would be a cheap cop out, but Hasbro has never been above cheap alternatives.

There's quite a lot of the "Big Hitters" of G1 still to come. I think a lot of people will want Defensor & Omega Supreme to round out the season 2 cast; but then there are a lot of people who prefer season 3.

I suppose his beast hunters figure can fill the gap for now, but the fact that hasbro homaged him and showed that they still have the rights to the name is a good sign that they're still thinking about him. He's been featured heavily in the Robots in Disguise ongoing a lot recently, so who knows, maybe the trend of the comics inspiring the designers might point them in his direction.

When's the last time they put out a toy (like deluxe size or bigger, not minicons or those "discs" for gen Soundwave) which had an animal robot mode (as opposed to an animal alt mode)? Maybe they think that sort of thing won't sell. Not that I necessarily agree, if so.

I never said Generations. But they DID give us a G1 styled Omega Supreme with the Platinum Edition Year of the Snake Omega Supreme.

Yeah, depends on whether you count year of the snake. His aftermarket price is Sky High now. Kicking myself for not picking him up while I had the chance #-o

Yeah, I hate how high he has gotten. But that also has to do wtih the fact that he wasn't a mass release (unlike Metroplex) but an exclusive platinum edition instead. And I dont really consider him since even though he has the G1 Omega Supreme colours, that alt mode is not even close to the G1 alt mode. And the mold itself is 10 years old.
I understand that if they ever do a generations Omega Supreme, he might not get that track (since I assume they would want him to transform and not just part form) BUT I do believe they would at least make him a rocket.

But in any case, this is supposed to be about Sky Lynx, so sorry for talking about Omega Supreme instead. All I meant to say is that before we get e Sky Lynx mold, I feel the odds are more in our favour to get an update on Omega Supreme or Devastator
