I'm gonna say no.

Way to bilk people out of an extra $65 bucks, Hasbro.

i dont know but judging by the cockpits pretty closeolokin wrote:are Jetfire and Ransack in alt mode in 1:1 scale with each other?
Seibertron wrote:Why in the world would Hasbro make Jetfire work with the first movie Prime? That doesn't make any sense at all.
Convotron wrote:To be fair, RotF Leader OP is a great figure in most people's judgment. I have both the 07 and RotF Leader figures and they both are great in their own ways.
Convotron wrote:Also, just to let you know, DB, automatontoy.com is selling RotF Leader Optimus Prime for $39.99 CAD and has $9.99 flat rate shipping for Canadian shipping destinations. They also have RotF Leader Megatron for the same price. I may pick one up if it's still in stock when I have the money set aside.
Darth Bombshell wrote:Actually, it makes perfect sense. See, since ROTF Prime is basically 2007 Prime retooled, most people aren't going to want to rebuy it. (I'm talking about general people here, not hardcore obsessive completists.) And since the major selling point of Jetfire is the combining gimmick with Prime, most people are going to want to buy it. Therefore, it would make sense to ensure that it's backwards compatible with the first movie Prime as well, since most people aren't going to want to honk out an extra $65 for a figure they techincally already own.

Actually, it still doesn't make any sense at all. I think you might be confused about the new ROTF Optimus Prime which is a 100% brand spankin' NEW toy. There's absolutely nothing retooled about it. The figure is brand new from the ground up, has a completely different transformation. It's a completely separate toy. The ROTF toy is much more accurate to the movie Optimus Prime than the first one was. I didn't realize how much so until I transformed the original movie Prime and compared them side-by-side.
Here's a series of photos I took comparing the first movie Prime to ROTF Prime:

Convotron wrote:I can't see how RotF Leader OP could be called a retooling of 07 Leader OP, though, considering it's an entirely new toy design, albeit of the same character. The placement and design of components, the size of the figure, as well as its transformation design are totally different.

Darth Bombshell wrote:This is news to me, really. I was under the impression that figures being reused from the first movie were more or less the same as they were the first time, so that people who bought them before wouldn't have to buy them again. I guess that's not true in Prime's case.
