Hmm... from what I can tell from the video, that wasn't Optimus Prime.

Who was it? It was Orion, Orion Pax. The YOUNG version of Optimus. Compare the two looks and I think you'll find them quite similar.

Orion, it would appear in this clip, has just found the Matrix which will give him the wisdom of the ages and all that.

It looks like they're definately throwing nods to the original G1 cartoon here...

It's got my interest, I'll watch a few eps.

rachets voice sounds like a mix between g1 ironhide and cybertron breakdown.primes head is a little long,though i like the rocket on his battle axe

The G1 designs where great but that animation was rushed and full of errors. However G1 and GIJoe broke many molds in character desing and presentation alone.

I for one love G1, I grew up with it, it is the basis of every series since, but I also agree, it's day is done.

Still as an "old senaile" fan, I have to say after 30+ years of watching all types of animation, I can tell you I have a broad frame of reference, and can tell you whats good and what is some pokemon ripoff spoof crap. Thats all american anime is, a take on the bottem of the barrel of an ancient art.

And before you laugh and sniker all I can say is make it aroud the block once or twice before you start telling me whats on the other side around the corner Little Jack!

Demand Better, and oh it's out there, or get ready because it'll only get worse. This style of animation, although it does have its merits(I liked Teen Titans), realy is nothing more than effortless quick slung hash.

The old thing is and inside joke that me and my friends made up with prime and megatron on paint ill show you sometime its not a direct insult but mmm i like the old gi joe better than sigma6. But i like this one better than g1 just becuase i have always found it boring. I also didnt like g1 for lack of acuracy and poseability. But i still like the new animated look becuase is blocky yet sleek and it just fits my taste.

I hope you didn't miss my point, I wasn't knocking your statement, and I didn't feel insulted, thats why I started off by saying G1 was a flawed show.

I also can't help but agree that alot of G1 bots where basicly blocks that changed, and I like displaying my newer figs alot more.

But it doesn't change the fact that G1 was just that, the start. The Inital Idea, and alot has to be said for that alone.

Still, I've been posting it trough out this thread, we've seen whats possible in the world of TFs. I for one would rather see this:

I hate to repeat myself but the first clip was done over three years ago. The bots have welds, rivits, and scrapes that make them seem LIKE ROBOTS, and not some cartoonie crap.

I hope you see the point I'm trying to make, we can have better, so why not demand it!?!

Well heres that drawing dont take it personal g1 fans its just a joke drawing done in bored time with friends.Also People who dont like the animation well people like certain animation some people dont i like anime/american anime look i dont like the detailed marvel look becuase its just too much work on one character. I like simple things The toys are also awsome for me becuase articulation look godlike(ps have to play counter strike)in these things.My friends and I are dumbasses so well yeah you get it we laugh at anything.

If only you knew why i hated g1 im not going to say its embarasing. But i dont like people complaining becuase they might throw i line i like,like they did when fans complained about transtech. I'm coming around to Bumblekitty. He's kinda cute. As for Batmanus Prime, eh...dunno yet. But wtf is up with Ratchet?? He's been eating too many Energon bars or something. Fatty McFat fat!

I can't agree with you more. But since you mention Beast Wars, Lets take a look at season 1. Most people hated it, not because of bad stories, not because they didn't do cool things, and they had alot of great content. But the character designs set people off. At the end of Season 1 they ended it with a question mark, not for suspense, but because they didn't know it their next job was going to be Season 2, or that idea that the janitor had for a cat named Huckels(I just made that up, but you get the point).

When Season 2 was passed, what was the first thing they did, they updated the disliked character designs to something more robotic, and began refrencing the source materials.

If it wasn't for that Beast Wars would have been a single season memory, reguardless of all the good character, comedy, and action content.

Still it wouldn't have gotten there if more wasn't demanded!

Now as for this style of animation, again it does have it's merits, it's very fluid, and fast, and as I've stated I hope the stories are good, but the overall design is wrong.

These bots seem more Transformers GO-BOTS, than Transformers, Transformers. With all the advancments in animation and toy tech, I just see this as a step backwards.

Again, I respect your opinions, and you make some valid points. But you can't tell me that some more dpeth and detail couldn't be added to those very flat designs.

I'm surprised so many are comparing this to teen titans.

To me, it looks more along the lines of Legion of superheros both in animation and atmosphere. LOS has a style closely resembling Teen titans, but had zero forms of anime elements.

The Sound effects sound good but the animation still bothers the bojangles out of me.

Yeah, and I have nieces, nephews, surogets, friends with kids that love TFs who ask me what I think about recent toys and shows that take what I have to say into consideration before spending their dollar on Hasbro's target audience.

Couple that with my own dollar's vote which is considerable, and hell yeah I think I have the right to demand better for me those kids, their parents, and even you!

I know I'm not the only person in this position, most collectors in some way or another are. It's a strange type of influence, but an influence non the less, I plan on using it well, voicing my opinion, and hopefuly get some more financialy inclined people(all you TF patrons) to say "Hey this does suck, and we do want something better"

Alot of you reading this are in the same boat, so I ask, why let it sink when you can row!?!

Quick Question. I dont know if this has been brought up yet but i just found out that David Kaye (Megatron for the past 10 years) is doing Primes voice. So if he's Prime then who will be Megatron? And why would they change his role?

Or in layman's terms......the guy that voiced Spike & Shockwave in G1.

First impression is that I don't like it. HOWEVER, since I dig the toys (they're kinda cute in a very Playschool'ish sorta way; its like they're the next step up from the Robot Heroes line) I could maaaaybe warm up to it...if by some stroke of genius they can show that fighting more humans than Deceps isn't the stanky idea I feel it is.
Actually, after seeing that these designs really do work as toys I think it would have been better if they went cg with the cartoon characters. I can understand why they didn't, especially after those Japanese made shows, but I still think it would have been better. Cg would have given more machine-credibility to that over-exaggerated, Titan-toony look.
