New Transformers Cartoon Series Debuting in 2015

Animated has a very specific, very distinctive style that anything resembling it would only be other cartoons designed by Derrick J. Wyatt or things specifically intending to emulate his style.
Based on that Bumblebee art alone, this just looks like the typical, nonspecific cartoon style used by the 2D cartoons of today.

Probably the latter, but I think it looks good either way.durroth wrote:... so is this ACTUALLY bumblebee, or an ILLUSTRATION of bumblebee? I.e. is he going to be cell shaded like this suggests, or is this just a drawing of what the final render might roughly look like?
They also thought Knock Out was good comic relief. And he was.Darth Jumpy wrote:The only thing that has me worried about this is that it says it is going to be a more comedic series. While I do enjoy silly takes on Transformers, the Prime people thought that Miko was good comic relief.

Stereotypes I tell you, next all 3D animations will be compared to Prime, only time will tell.

That looks horrible. I skipped Animated for toys entirely, I pretty much ignored the series until it was over and decided to watch it (thankfully it was short). I was kinda hoping that the new series was going to look like Prime but kinda play out like Animated (the overall story in Animated, not the individual stories). It's looking like it's going to play out like Prime and look like Animated, which I think is the worst thing they could try. I'll still check it out because I can always be wrong, but sadly I'm going into this with a tainted viewpoint.
At least it isn't more japanimation.

Doesn't that mostly stem from the overabundance of his toys rather than his fictional appearances? I mean, he was pretty downplayed for the most part in Prime and was only a three-episode guest star in Rescue Bots. So his being important here is kind of a new thing, cartoon-wise.kirbenvost wrote:ike most everyone else I suffer from Bumblebee fatigue but maybe this can change his recent characterization for the better.

I'd like to see Smokescreen return but not reset like Cybertron Hot Shot. Be nice to see the Rescue Bots transfer over.
Rescue Bots suffered from the same problem, to me at least, as Animated. Great Transformers characterisations but childish situations/ human villains.
I'd love to see more from Chase.
But for the love of Primus, no more Bulkhead. Animated Bulkhead was endearing but Prime Bulkhead was a bore. Plus I hate his look.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing how this goes.

not being a fan of bumblebee in the first place, i am not certain I will enjoy seeing him as the leader of in charge....
and now, with him being in charge, and seeing how much the market is saturated with bee toys, you can be sure that we wont see the last of him ! not a fan of the aestetic either.
but on ONE positive note: he will speak.
question: Megatron proclaimed the end of the decepticons with his departure. against who will the autobots fight? and one other thing: will knock out be around?

The reason for the comparison to Animated (for me anyway) is the expression on his face, and the weird angles on some details like the hands. It's a continuation from Prime, so I know how the character will act and interact with other characters, but just the way he looks reminds me of Animated. Of course he looks nothing like Animated Bumblebee, but that's the comparison my mind drew and then my mind remembered how much crap Animated was with not enough good for me to enjoy.

It's mostly the whole dude without a voice thing I don't care for (TF version of R2D2? lol), which has obviously been fixed now. With the Bayverse it was something different but when they did the same thing in Prime it gave me a big huge eyeroll. But I didn't mind him as a character in Prime, no, and it is largely Hasbro's marketing zeal that leaves me burned out on Bee.
As for comparisons to Animated, it's the exaggerated body proportions, big feet, etc. Of course the actual design bears much more resemblance to the Prime aesthetic, but it's close enough to Animated for me to see some inpiration.

To me this is Animated mixed into Prime to be a sort of Hybrid. Being Less like the original Prime but more like Transformers Animated in terms of Looks & Feeling.
The question remains will any of the previous characters show in this Prime Sequel, Such as Miko, Raf or Jack. Or other survivors that survived in Prime. Or will this be a Brand new Deal in a Brand new Direction.
Similar towards how certain video games are now doing, being Dragon Age Inquisition taking place Years after Dragon Age 2 yet still in the Same Time Line/Universe this is just a Brand new Group of Characters being on a Global scale. Then again with the New Mass Effect. Still set in the Mass Effect Universe it will not feature or show Shepard or Shepard 2 being a Brand new Cast of Characters & Locations.
Maybe this Prime Sequel will be handled in a similar fashion, Being in that same Timeline, yet it will not feature or show any previous characters being Fowler, Miko, Jack, Raf or Jack's Mom June. Being Bee would be the only character back but Bee Himself could also be changed Radically depending on how many years this takes place after Prime.
I don't know why they Choose Bee, when Ultramagnus, Arcee, & the others survived in Prime not unless they chose to stay on Cybertron to Help rebuild.
While Bee leads a new Team back on Earth. Now the Question remains Who will lead the Decepticons.

I would gladly take ten Nanosecs or Mastersons over one Raf! Human villains are much better than human protagonists, and human protagonists are only good when they turn out to be transformers! But it would be nice to have a series with no humans in it.
