I just did that out of courtesy to the shop owner, not that I think Hasbro is going to send in a SWAT team or anything. Besides he was about 100 years old and wouldn't know a knock off from a masterpiece. I could have probably sold him a block of wood and told him it transforms into a robot.

How is that a bootleg Jetfire? Between the VF-1A inspired head (rather then the VF-1S head that Jetfire had) and the various markings (including Skull markings and UNSpacy kite logos) it is clearly a bootleg Macross Valkyrie. That'd be like identifying these as bootleg Jetfires:

They're not made by Hasbro or Takara, the coloring is all wrong, they're a different size then the original, and they have different heads! (Oddly, though... where as usually, bootlegs feature simplified molds, these are kind of the opposite.) This "Yamato" company had some balls doing such blatant Jetfire rip-offs!

Without the obvious Macross-ish markings, or if it had a more VF-1S-like head, or if it came in packaging that tried to look like Transformers packaging, I'd go with calling it a Jetfire bootleg. But looking at that, I don't see anything that says Jetfire to me. Even with the red fastpack. I just see a cheep knock-off Macross Valkyrie.

Kind of a neat find. It's interesting; they KOed not only MP Rumble, but also BTS Rumble! Of all the cassettes they could have chosen, they went with one of the worst of the bunch,

That Bug Combiner, as you may already know, is based on an original piece called Transforming Combining Insect Robo: Insector Σ by Tatsumiya. The Optimus Prime Sword is based on Lian from Brave Command Dagwon, a straight repaint.

The Bug Combiner is pretty obscure, but I know at least one Japanese blog has documented it:

Insector Σ on TF Baka Ichidai.

Tastumiya is also responsible for a set of Dinosaur Combiners that have been KO'd, you can find the KO's here:
