It costs $2.50 and is sold under the name "Space Warrior Transformable Military Fighter Series 01". They have 8 different giant Mini-Cons (about the size of a Basic/Scout each).
They had the Armada Land Military team, the Energon Saber team and some others.

Alas, I have no Walgreens stores nearby either.
I think someone already posted pics of this one, but below is a knockoff G1 Devastator that I picked up during a visit to Shanghai a couple of months ago. I wrote a bit more about the figure (as well as the other toys that I picked up overseas; you might be interested in the cutesy transforming animals as well) in this article, in case anyone is interested in reading. But yeah, it's a pretty cool display piece.
I just visted your site WesCrayon. Excellent reviews on toys from Shanghai. I've save it in my favorites folder...

That is bloody awesome! Looks like it's another series of the transforming vehicle robots I saw (that series was called "Auto-Bots") -- I took them to be oversized Legends figures, but now I'm wondering if they weren't giant Mini-cons. They were each about the size of a deluxe. At any rate, having a giant-sized Energon Saber team would flipping rule.

Thanks, Zone! Hopefully someday soon I'll have reviews of these bootleg figures up on the site.

That is fantastic! And when you say "first try," do you mean that it's your first repaint ever? I will have to PM you for some advice/tips/etc. -- I've never done any repainting before, but I am pretty interested in repainting one of these Transformatrix bootleg Primes into Scourge/Nemesis Prime and giving the Lio Convoy knockoff a little more color.
And finally, I was perusing the Big Lots Wholesale website for some reason (who knows why; it's not like I can buy anything from them

Thank you.
I have one set of KO Superion from Big Lots. It is more durable and solid than I thought for $6. For me, it is great fun to play with. I don't think it can be easily broken, but the thing about KOs is that you generally don't know until you open YOUR set, especially when there're 5 figures.

What Powersa said -- they're fairly durable, though the cheaper plastic does mean that you have to be a bit more careful than you might be with a legit TF. (Or maybe not, seeing as how a legit gestalt would be a costly collector's item!) I ended up snapping off quite a few parts while transforming my knockoff gestalts, but they were pretty easy to snap back on. The stickers on the one I got at Big Lots are extremely loose and prone to peeling, though.

The Superion I got at Big Lots is roughly 9.5" tall.

Wes Crayon wrote:Apparently not all Big Lots are created equal -- I went to one yesterday that had only a single yellow Devastator, and phone calls to the two other ones even remotely nearby yielded nothing, as they told me that they didn't have any "transformable robots" in stock. Will have to try to hit up that other one again at some point, then.
This is correct, I have 4 different big lots in driving distance and they are all different and get new things in a different times. Some are small, some are large. All get things in a different times. Along side the giant Mini-Cons I found were some powerranger knockoffs and yet more releases of TM2 Dragon Megatron in differnet colors.

I just found the double sized Mini-Cons Runway and Jetstorm. That makes 2 out of three for the double sized Starsaber. I have not found a Sonar jet to make the hilt.

At any rate, must get some of these during my next visit!
Also, how do you like the RID Mega/Galvatron? I think that's the one I got (two-headed dragon, yes) -- I'd love to see how you go about transforming him into his extra forms, if you've given it a shot. I think that his lack of certain features and articulation makes many of the transformations more/less impossible, but I've managed to wrangle him into faux griffin and elephant modes.
