sure seems to indicate Optimus is dying, but I suspect a red herring here. too easy, plus Hasbro knows by now that the first rule of bot club is...

"You Don't Kill Optimus Prime(permanently)"

the second rule of bot club is

"You Don't Kill Optimus Prime(permanently)"

My guess is that there is a reformat in the works

I do hope we get Ultra Magnus on the show tho to go with the toy and the rage of the dinobots tie-in

So he's putting "the fate of his kind" above the fate of just one? Would have been a good mindset to have back on Cybertron before he screwed it to save a few kids. I get why he had to, but its made this scene's wording feel a bit out of place.

Tihs is just wrong, i thought optimus was tougher than this, but the trailer makes it seems that he was too badly crushed by the rubble and badly damaged.

The episode writers must've been desperate to find a way to "kill the old prime and introduce the new reborn prime later" later instead of just upgrading him after being rescued from the rubble of the old lair.

Wow, this looks awesome! My guess is Optimus will tell Smokescreen to take the Matrix and pass it to the next Prime, but given Smokescreen's general disregard for following orders and doing what he thinks is right instead he will do something to save/revive Optimus instead and the result will be Optimus in a newly reformatted/upgraded body (sort of along the lines of what Sari did in TF Animated). Or maybe that is just wishful thinking

Pretty cool, I´m excited about Beast Hunters, but the thing that makes me happy the most is that the creators are trying to pull off something, know what I mean? they have something in mind, an idea, a concept, I bet this season will go to places that we would´ve never predict.

I don't know about anyone else, but for some reason to me this held more meaning. My gut tells me line is about, maybe not just a new Prime, but a new "Transformers: Prime" based series. Pick a character to focus on then (Smokescreen? Bulkhead and Wheeljack reforming the Wreckers? Who knows...) follow him through his exploits. AS for a new Prime literally, I have this other feeling that Jack will somehow be involved. Just a weird hunch.

Next series: a perfect way to follow up and introduce TONS of new characters to sell- Transformers: Rescue. The Autobots and Decepticons leave Earth to search for more of their kind among the stars. (random thought)

The perfect set up for Ultra Magnus to arrive. If "Rage of the Dinobots" is any indication, he is coming.

He'll probably just go into stasis lock to keep him online for as long as possible, so he can come back with a new body without dying. Otherwise, they'd be cheapening death by having a dead guy come back to life, which is something the show's creators have been firmly against doing.

Considering how Cybertron was already dead long before the show even began, there was nothing to lose back when he saved the Earth at the cost of the Omega Lock.

Really? 'Cause the base blew the hell up on his ass. Normally, anyone inside of the blast radius would be extra crispy bacon.

At least he appears to be in better condition than Megatron was after the Space Bridge explosion, since he's aware of his surroundings and he can communicate.

It's not the rubble that NEARLY killed him. It was the blast that was seen miles away.

Anyhow, how is there supposed to be a "new" Prime if Optimus is the last of them.

Holy smokes... umm after looking at the packaging art for the face, I have to say you have made a very good point. Would be strange if Smokescreen pulls a movie Jetfire and sacrifices himself to be parts for Optimus.
