DEVASTATION is a TPS because the shooting is stronger than the slashing.Even for scoring:headshot with a rapid weapon,beat'em alls don't have headshots,Columbo.The most distinct is the dodge+slow motion or the vehicule crash+it,the very strong drill shot that can be charged(logically not the same model as Devastator because of size).The two others are higly story driven,i can see why you would prefer the multiplayer over the playable cutscenes.BATTLEGROUNDS is a turn by turn TPS.

The game was announced in December 2022 with a cinematic trailer and promises of a beta that never happened. Their next social media update was a full year later promising "exciting updates" in 2024. Here we are another full year later with nothing. But oh hey look, leaked gameplay from nearly FIVE YEARS ago. lol this game is never happening.

If the game is one more online hero shooter à la Overwatch, it better be FTP with a kick-ass co-op story mode, and generous rewards, with a simple interface.

If they fail just ONE of these aspects, the game will be effectively DOA.

Or maybe, just maybe, they need more time to cook so they can trash all the hero-shooter concepts (a genre where competition is ruthless and unforgiving) and go back to make a stellar single player experience like the Activision classics.

But I'm not holding my breath.

It's official, the live service game Transformers Reactivate has been cancelled. This comes to us from Splash Damage, the developers, who say the game is no longer being developed. You can read their whole statement below, which they posted on Twitter. We thank Sabrblade for letting us know of this unfortunate development. While a coincidence, this does happen at the same time that Hasbro will be doing games based on their properties themselves rather than licensing it out to third party companies. We will be giving you more info on this shift in Hasbro's business strategies in an upcoming editorial.

After the DOA Concord, and the failure of so many hero shooters, INCLUDING OVERWATCH, plus having to compete with Fortnite and the Marvel Rivals juggernaut, it's no wonder that it was pointless spending more ressources on that TF themed hero shooter.

Too bad the whole thing will be buried for a tax return instead of being redirected into a kick-ass single player game like the Activision classics.

I never needed a AAA Transformers video game with all the fancy shmancy (read: modern greedy crap) live-service, endless DLCs, pay-to-win crap. Just wanted a good single player TPS with decent graphics (WFC/FOC is still serviceable to this day) that moves the franchise forward. Cut the multiplayer aspect to save on development & support costs. A good game with awesome designs drives toy sales and franchise exposure to the general public. We had a winning formula with WFC/FOC/Davastation, is it so hard to get back to that basics?

I doubt I'll play Deactivate, er, I mean Reactivate even if it comes out because of its live-service focus. But I was interested to know how story driven it will be - even if the premise of human & Transformers banding together to fight some space snakes sound stupid/wasted potential on the outset. We are starved for more mature stories outside of Skybound comics.

Now it's all for naught. Oh well, I MIGHT get the two 2-packs as memoriam for what it could be... if they're on sale.

You said they spend too much money on the wrong thing about TF:ONE,it happens since PRIME at least (the actors),the ambitious failure that started it all before EARTHSPARK that is mainly remembered for a few things only.

Go back to replay these games if they are that great,as tyrannical as it sounds.The multiplayer rather than the playable cutscenes i suppose.

That thing was never gonna fly and if it did it would've been Concord.

Game dev managers need to start realizing, just make a good small single player game and then just finish the game and sell it on consoles for 30/40 euro's. Not the whole hero shooter live service crap. That won't work and over budget games also won't work. 10 guys can make a cool single player TF game in a year part time.

Its administration that's the issue, not the devs. The admins are trying to maximize profit with minimal work, but simple story games don't do that. I'd live to see something along the lines of Horizon Zero Dawn for TF, or Jedi Fallen Order. Both had excellent storyline and were standbalone games.

Yes agree. High Moon got it right. A solid third person shooter, the auto-unique factor is you can Transform from a third person shooter to a racing / flying game so it's actually cheating.
And a story, you can write any sci fi war story you want and put Transformers in it. And it has a built in fanbase which is pretty strong I think. So a decent TF game not too high budget in making should be a pretty easy gig.

Those producers/managers are the problem.

This was the original reveal trailer for the game, animated by Digital Domain, they had planned to show this off at E3 2020- which obviously didn't happen. All credit for this massive discovery goes to @Optimuscan12K on Twitter.

By the end of 2020, the game was given to Splash Damage in full who fully rebooted the project with less than 12 months until release.

So, Transformers via Titan Fall got canned. That sucks, I guess? :???:

Since I loathe first person perceptive games in general, this was never game I was ever going to play. I can't get mad that a game that I never had any desire to play to gets canned.

It sucks that the people working on the game got screwed.
